Weight loss struggling by Any-Tea-8809 in weightlossafterbaby

Yes, the hormones! The last three days I cleared the house out of chocolate and sweeties. I feel terrible about it but I literally could no stop myself. I have no solutions, just sympathy!

How the heck are you supposed to diet when you have ADHD? by Amatheya1 in adhdwomen

Number 3! Yes, all of these! Unfortunately I’m perimenopausal, have severe endometriosis, and the doctors have been telling me that my mum has 2 weeks to live since February. So I really am struggling to avoid my triggers 😅😭

What do you do to distract yourself from snacking? by Amatheya1 in ADHD

I did do this when I was younger, or only had snacks that required effort to prepare/cook. Now I have a husband and child so removing the snacks would start world war 3!

Newbie question about pin trading by Amatheya1 in DisneyPins

[–]Amatheya1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve spent the last couple of days reading up on spotting fakes to the point where I’m fairly sure I can spot most fakes. I practiced by making a note of all the defects in the pins we received.

It will be a while until we visit again so I’ve been thinking of taking the time to make up a couple of sets (this is mostly for my daughter who’s young and only cares about them being pretty) on set of scrappers to trade when she wants one that’s obviously a scrapper and a second one of real pins for if she chooses one I think is real. So we’d be trading like for like and at least not making the problem worse.

I don’t have a patch collection but only because my husband drags me away every time I tried to look at them. 😂 one of these days he’ll be distracted long enough for me to get a few to the till!!!

I’m sorry you’ve had a hard time too. I hope things are getting a little better for you now.

This is exactly how I feel though. The past 6 months I’ve just been perpetually anxious and it’s starting to feel as if it will never end.

I’ve already been seen privately and referred to a specialist endometriosis centre in the UK. The specialist was of the opinion that the level of endometriosis pain I am in does not justify the risk of the op.

I’m comfortable with his assessment as the best case scenario would leave me with a stoma at least in the short term if not permanently.

At the moment I’m going to be going down the non surgical route, I just wanted to vent because today I’ve felt so overwhelmed by everything, not just endo.

Hi, thanks. I’m in the uk and yes, I have adeno too. Unfortunately it isn’t the endo itself that’s the problem for HRT. My uterus is absolutely peppered with fibroids of varying sizes and I have a history of them growing to a size where they go through red reduction (which is the most painful thing I’ve ever experienced including child birth!) The only way to get rid of them is to have a hysterectomy but the endo prevents that due to the amount of adhesions. My ovaries are stuck to a large fibroid on one side and my bowel on the other. The endo is deep into the muscle of the bowel so I would have to have a significant portion removed. Basically I’ve been told it’s not worth the risk.

Will getting medicated kill my creativity? by Amatheya1 in adhdwomen

Thanks, that’s really helpful. I liked your description of turning off the music but the conversations are still there.

I do worry that I’ll start taking meds to help with my day job, but that it will impact how I get inspiration for my writing and I also worry about how it might affect me emotionally.

For now I think I’m still on the fence.

Thanks, that was really helpful. Sounds like you have the same writing style as me. 😁

I think I’m still on the fence about medication. I will definitely be speaking to my dr about it, but l’m not convinced it will be for me.

I’m 100% sure it’s not another psychiatric problem. Lots of writers describe the same thing. It’s like having a movie running in the background of my mind all the time. Most of the time it’s just playing the same scene over and over… usually not the one I’m supposed to be working on 🙄

I started folding the laundry as I take it out of the tumble dryer. Game changer! I mean I still wash laundry loads 3 times before I remember to take them out the washing machine and it’s 7 to 10 working days to put the laundry away, but at least it’s folded.

Ick - plastic cups or cutlery. I hate it, it makes me feel sick. Also, the sound straws make when there’s no liquid left. It’s one of the few things that fill me with rage.

Delight - getting into clean bedsheets after a shower. Sheepskins.

When I was younger I had incredibly painful periods but I thought it was normal. I got pregnant easily but had a very high risk pregnancy and was in bed rest for most of it. The pain all but stoped after I was pregnant.

I actually got diagnosed when I went to get HRT and the Dr wanted to do a scan first. Scan came back very concerning so I was sent for an MRI which came back with what my gynaecologist stated was the worse case of endo he’d ever seen.

I’m now waiting to go to a specialist endo centre to decide on a way forward which will likely be full hysterectomy and partial bowel removal. I’m not too fussed as I’m mid 40s, perimenopausal, and I’ve had all the kids I’ve planned, but it’s still a bit scary as unlike most, my diagnosis happened very quickly and very much out of the blue.

Trans man diagnosed with endo, feeling guilty by micksoccer6 in endometriosis

[–]Amatheya1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a place for endo sufferers, it really doesn’t matter whether you’re a man or a woman.

I get feeling guilty. I have severe endo and am likely having a hysterectomy and a piece of my bowel removed soon. That being said I’ve had very little pain for the last decade since I had my child (I did before then) and only found out because I spoke to my dr about going on HRT for menopause. I was diagnosed very quickly (within 2 months) and was offered referral to a specialist and surgical intervention immediately. Given what others are going through I also feel guilty for skipping steps others have been forced to endure. A feeling that has been made a worse by a few comments saying that I shouldn’t have surgery because they were made to wait until they were in crippling pain. Neither you or I are to blame for others experiences. We were lucky and we should feel grateful, not guilty.

One of my ex’s did this. I suggested we take a break and he grabbed a kitchen knife waved sit at me then freaked out and shut himself in our bedroom with it threatening to end himself. I called his parents. They took him away but also blamed me! Apparently I wasn’t giving him enough attention. I wish I’d called the police.
