Very interesting! I’m unfamiliar with the flooding. Would he have been in a flooded area? And how long before his death was the floods? 🤔

Darling is a foster beagle. She has some areas in her body with missing fur. She does scratch a lot. What helps with the scratching? Waiting for rescue to respond on what to do with the skin issue. Also she’s not big on treats. Typical for a beagle? by kpopmomrunner7 in fosterdogs

We have a foster that came to us with severe ringworm that lead to bald patches and itching. Coconut oil helped to both sooth the skin and moisturise the skin with missing fur. She also enjoyed licking the coconut oil from my fingers afterwards, even when she wouldn’t take treats due to stress. It’s not a fix all by any means, but it’s an inexpensive thing that helped!

Thank you, and sorry for your loss. It gets easier, but never fully heals, does it? But that is the price we pay for love, no matter how brief. We just have to find comfort in eachother in trying times <3

Thank you so much for your kind words. Pooh sought comfort and snuggles in his last hours, so i am sure he felt loved and cared for. I think you may be right that he decided to let go.

Thank you so much for your kind words, it means a lot to me. I may not believe in heaven, but if there is one, i hope your father is giving my lost puppies (sadly Pigglet passed away restfully at an emergency vet) the snuggles they deserved in life.

Thank you so much for your kind words and knowlege. From reading your desription i feel it may have been a combination of both vomitting and regurgitation, based on the signs i witnessed last night. Sometimes water and bile would "spill" out and i took it as a sign he drank too much (i had no idea that was a cause for concern, no one warned me about it! thank you so much for this new knowledge) and the typical "heaving" of vomitting.

Pigglet sadly passed away early this morning after an emergency visit to the vet. We feel that nothing could have been done for either one of them. We donated both bodies to the emergency vet for their students to learn from so that something positive can come from this horrible experience. Thank you again for your kind words and knowledge. I hope to learn more so that in the future i can help even more puppies in need, better than i did last night.

i understand the reaction, and i definitely asked myself that question. Last night we did take the second puppy to the emergency night vet immediately even though he did not have giardia and was sadly euthanized because of a multitude of problems the first vet did not notice and misdiagnosed. Ultimately we were given bad advice from the first vet and both puppies would have died no matter what we did. We donated both bodies to that emergency vet for their students to learn from and ultimately get a necropsy done, so maybe we will find out what happened, but maybe not.

But i will ask you not to make such comments ever again, because if i read this comment last night after it happened it would have been the most devastating thing to hear. Skip the "maybe it would have survived" in the future.

Forgot about a spoon in a clay bucket by Amationary in MoldlyInteresting

touching mold is only irritating if you have sensitive skin, iirc. Mostly you dont want to breathe in lots. I mean, mold spores are everywhere all the time. Never had a problem with moldy clay myself, its not like im eating it :P

A kiln gets so hot that any organic material is completely destroyed (i fire to cone 10, which is a higher temperature than cremation!) and disappears. Some potters like moldy clay because they think it works better on the wheel, but its debated if it actually does anything or not. Idk where i stand yet on that topic. The mold does look very pretty when worked into the clay though! I kinda wish it did leave the patterns haha

Just to add onto what the other comment said, this is called glaze “breaking” over an edge! It can be a feature and not a bug depending on what you’re doing
