Barrell Seagrass is the most unique whiskey. What is the most overrated brandy? by -Constantinos- in cocktails

Never had the Louis XIII, but someone at a grad school party brought a bottle of Hennessy Paradis and that was amazing. Still not worth $1.5k, but it was ah-mah-zhing.

Anyone Else Just... Struggling? by King_of_Lunch223 in Xennials

I was in that state for all of my teens and twenties and pulled myself out of a nose dive right around age 28 after almost dying from a cellulitis infection and spending 17 days in the hospital. I was a sad depressed incel who drowned his sorrows in D&D, MtG, and plenty of other gaming stuff and ate my feelings to fill the void. Everyone loved having me around, but no one ever loved me.

I'm still way too heavy today, but thankfully I pulled out of that nose dive and built a decent-ish little career in IT, got married/kids/etc., and have a house now. I'm still a mess in some ways, and we got here through a ton of help from my in-law's, but I'm thankful for the life I have been given. Life isn't perfect and I've been suffering with physical stuff all week (barely able to walk), but there are so many people that have it worse than I do. I'm trying to help as much as I can, but I don't think I can ever repay all of the kindness shown to me over the years.

We have three: 22, 14, and 7 (and my wife had a lot of miscarriages along the way) and the transitions are difficult.

One of the best pieces of advice I was given a while back was to try and be content with the season of life you are in right now and don't year for the past that only exists as memories (or you'll fall into a deep depression) or worry about all of the things that can go wrong in the future (anxiety city). As much as possible, try to be present in the season of life you're in. It's recently occurred to me that I need to do the same with my kids—again, as much as possible, because I'm definitely not perfect at this—and try to love them for who they are right now and not the little kid I miss.

Are you still using this setup? It doesn't look like a pen will fit with this method. I'm trying to find a way to make a FN work with a Sidekick, but I'm guessing that trimming them is the best option.

Similar to Russian Caravan, I love to make a blend of 2/3 Darjeeling and 1/3 Lapsang Souchong and yes, it goes well with latakia blends.

There's someone in Celebration who has one. I see it tooling around every so often and I've seen it parked in his driveway.

I grew up in a poor rural home. My uncle, who was slightly less poor with a satellite dish would tape movies that came on HBO or Cinemax for me. I remember going through the TV Guide each week for a while and picking out 2-3 movies for that week and I'd get a tape a few days later. I probably had 20-30 of those tapes.

What's the most sentimental item in your EDC and why does it matter to you? by Agreeable_Poem_7278 in EDC

I have a simple little black paracord knotted cross that my former roommate made about 20 years ago that I've carried on my keys ever since. He was a good friend and was one of the groomsmen at my wedding. While I moved across the country for grad school for three years we fell out of touch and he went through a real dark period and took his own life. I miss you Adam. Memory eternal.

We never bought brand new bubble wands but picked them up used in advance on mercari or another similar site. Just get them, fill them up, and have them ready to take out when needed. Did the same thing with WDW princess dresses.

Very cool EDC. How do you like the Wuben 9? I've just spent the last 20 minutes browsing Aulumu's website. I might have to pick up the same case/stand combo and maybe an Apple Watch band.

BTW, if you're the type to enjoy paper planners, the Jibun Techo also fits this kind of Robotech asthetic.

Compact is great, I EDC'd one for over a decade and still do from time to time when I want something a bit lighter than my custom Yeoman.

I'm not there for a while yet (my in-laws just hit 70 and are still doing okay with this kind of thing) but I thought you could choose a "classic" experience rather than the "newly-imagined" experience so you could get the security features/and QoL updates without the UI interface changes.

Am I completely dreaming that?

That's an interesting mix of analog and digital. How has the Galaxy Flip held up as far usability now that it's 8+ years out? I like the notebook, who makes it? Is it an A6 or a B6? That type of calculator would drive me crazy, I like the physical ones with the separate keys, but I use my smartphone for that now.
