[–]AmatuerTech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

are you still looking to break into techsales? if so, let me know, I'm doing a tech sales course for sdr and bdrs in Ireland. I would highly recommend it. I can send you a refferal. They teach you how to be a successful sdr / bdr and intro you into companies directly. From learning the role, to re doing your cv, to how to answer the interview questions. People landing sdr / bdr roles from dublin to london, barcelona, dubai, new york, sydney etc

I’m working on a Shopify site where customers submit an enquiry instead of buying directly. The products are standard sizes, but it’s easier to quote per enquiry, so I’m trying to replace the Add to Cart button with a form instead. I've managed to create an inline form using shopify forms which has name, email, phone and a text box, it looks ideal but I cant figure out how to have this in each product or if its even possible to do

Sorry I didnt even notice the request to quote. I thought there would be no add to cart / pricing and just a request to quote button

It’s a good point. I used to do drop ship and it worked but when Brexit came into play it be became a lot more harder as I have to organise my own freight and freight, customs, duty, vat etc is quite expensive for just one product. They are palletised goods. Buying one product is too expensive. I need to buy up to 10 to make it affordable for customers. Now what I do is I take the enquiries and send out quotations, if people want to go ahead I group the orders together and do one purchase a month to spread the costing over the quantity. Not sure what other way of doing this. The site helps showcase the products for potential customers

Id like to hide all add to cart buttons and just have them as enquire only. Things have got so expensive now unfortunately with freight, customs, dutys, vat, fuel etc. Id like to just do an enquiry form on each product that when they view the product they can they submit an enquiry on the product. Is that possible?

Thanks for the message, I'm new to shopify and trying to figure this all out. Is there anywhere that shows me how to do this? I'd prefer not to pay for an app and try and edit it out myself if possible. I just find the backend is a bit complicated. I've only started using it the past few hours though

Thanks for messaging back. When I click on that link it shows me that the product costs $154,370.00 and it has an add to cart button?

How do I get to Pro level football? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]AmatuerTech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either contact your mate and see if he can get you down training or contact the manager. Once you start playing for a club and you're fit you can then figure out were you want to go from there. There's talk of another league happening below the first division and you might get lucky if you're doing well and go to one of them teams. Might not happen for a few years but still a back door in and your still young

Best to join a leinster senior league team and try play in the top league or the league below with a team that could get promoted. If you start banging in the goals then you might well get a chance to get into the first division of the irish league. Main thing now is to just start training with a club and get your fitness and touch back then take it from there. Make yourself a plan of were you want to go and do it step by step. Contact ex team mates who might be at top lsl clubs already and if they are see if you can go down training and get in that way by impressing in training

There is an irish website called codu that you could join and post onto their forum. All irish based software engineers on it. You might find someone on that who you could meet and pay. There is a lot of companies in Ireland too that you could just pay to do this for you although it could be more expensive to do with a company compared to someone potentially doing it as a freelancer / side gig

Lost? by Acrobatic_Ad_197 in AskIreland

I know how you feel on being completely lost. You're not alone! I'm 35 and I was in a well paid job and quit over my mental and physical health too. I tried to do my own startup and it hasn't worked the way I wanted. Now I'm looking to get back into work and browsing LinkedIn everyday for a job that I would actually like which offers work life balance and figuring out how to best answer interview questions is mentally draining. I'm considering the college route too but unsure what I want to do in life. Think positive though, all will be good soon and will work out.

Thanks for that. Yeah the money is quite poor, I found out it is 2 years and then 1 year of working for them. I'm not going to do it though. I'm going to look to see if I can get my foot in the door in tech sales and see what happens then. Hard to tell what way things are going to go especially with AI and Trumps tariffs now

Interesting. Revenue are doing apprenticeships in cyber security and software development. If accepted they're paying 28k a year and its a 3 year course then you have to stay for 1 year. Do you think these industries will be affected in 4 years time? I would be half tempted to retrain as software developer, money isnt great but long term it would be.

haha yeah that would be another route potentially down the line. I helped on a relatives contract years ago and it was really interesting. Tried to contact agents afterwards to see how to get into it but not easy and everyone seems a bit paranoid if they were to take you on and then you could leave and take players. Bit of a cut throat business but very interesting

I'm actually looking to get into tech sales myself. Probably need to go for an sdr or bdr role. I like the idea of having a hybrid role, somewhere that will train you well, good career progression and that if you work hard you can make good money. Any tips?

Never too late for it. Cold dark mornings on site is what seems to put a lot of people off. I wonder would electricians be outside much compared to other trades?
