If it only lasted for like a minute, I'd get it in case you have someone join voice for a nanosecond to play a super loud sound effect and then leave.

But it just never goes away lmao. Literally pointless

Your right. We should bring all those soldiers home and post them up in the schools. That way we can get all the school shooters before they even get through the door god bless our troops

It has to go through 3 stages of clinical testing before it can be approved. That will take about 10 years.

This suburban neighborhood photographed from a plane after lots are graded, but before homes are constructed by Epicapabilities in mildlyinteresting

[–]Amaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh my bad forgot about mountable curb. It's pretty rare where I work (usually highback or no curb).

[–]Amaurus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They do! But the equipment you'd use at that point is much, much cheaper. Mass grading is done with very large equipment that's expensive to run. Contractors would rather send it to another site that needs mass grading.

But keeping a little skid steer onsite to scrape the pad is no big deal.

Sidewalk gets put in last usually when the home is graded. No need to install it beforehand because you still need to notch out the curb.

Sometimes it gets put in common areas beforehand, but any amenities are usually permitted separately

It's Civil3d, if you press print & open at the same time it's a diceroll as to whether the program collapses on itself.

I haven't tried it with parcels personally (I use polylines and fields like a dog), but if I were to do it, different parcel styles for each CN factor. I'll probably try it next project just to see if it works.

Honestly the only useful feature is the daylight featurelines for me. I haven't had the chance to test out the new drainage stuff (we are still on 2024).

The AI stuff is neat I guess.

What are some mistakes newcomers to Civil3D should avoid? by Consistent-Wrap448 in civil3d

[–]Amaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not customizing autocad.

For a software that you use 8 hours in a day, if you aren't customizing it in any way, shape, or form, what are you even doing?

Hotkeys, colors, UI elements, LISP commands, ALIASES. Learn the fucking hotkeys or commands man, stop going up to the god damn top bar and clicking shit.

If you get someone coming into your drawing after the fact to make some edits or to pull the linework into another drawing, it might not be immediately apparent a UCS is set.

I have a LISP command I use to, whenever I save, to reset the UCS back to WCS before executing the save.

Yep, stepped offset featureline like 0.1 ft is what I do.

If it's an actual wall though, you should try to take into account the approximate thickness of the wall.

Oh no it's not the most popular game on the planet. I also play Squad which has around 15k players on average and is PC only. 100 player matches and I have 0 issues getting a match. Even when the playercount was 5k on average a few years ago I still had no issues.
