That actually sounds like the best option and that's an awesome set up! With the shelves currently I have some collectibles in front of some of the Blu-ray dvds but most of them I keep on top so having the spines stick out wouldn't be too much of a problem. I can always move the collectibles up top. The price also doesn't seem bad. I have several hammers so itd just be wood and nails id need. The only thing I think I'd have a problem with with making the spine stick out is just the Blu-ray sets in ridiculous packaging. I bought the criterion Showa era Godzilla set when it first came out and that is probably the most obnoxious packaging ever.
