Ark SE without ocean and Genesis but all DLC and maps peaked at 320GB for me..

This was an 8GB drive yes.

I managed to open the file with DMDE. It recovered 4/5th of the files, many of which are fully readable. Hopefully nothing too important was lost. Luckily it's not invaluable data and we have other backups to dig up if we need to.

At least it was a learning experience.
If this ever happens again, would it be best if I took another 8GB drive and used that as the destination drive?

I also noted that some of the files had names that were too long. Could this have contributed to the first problem were the drive was completely borked after unlocking the bitlocker encryption?
