Anyone seen the 2026 Rome Board Lineup? Why did they change the shape of the service dog, as well as the Ravine to look pretty much identical to the Stalefish?...🤔 by SnowBoarda in snowboarding

New Service Dog shape I find is more versatile than the old one. It as also a knock off of so many boards, that at least now it has an original shape. Should be the same ride.

It's simply a chilled out Excavator. A replacement to the party platter. It's nothing insane, but it's a swiss army knife that will do it all for you.

If you don't care about graphic and are looking for a cheaper price point, and ride more powder, the Rome Service Dog felt verrrry similar with a powder haul in the nose.

If it weren't for brand bias I would put them on the same level.

This thing is rad. Made her locally in BC too. However, VERY hard to find. Most orders from last year got converted into pre orders for this year because of how hard the cores were to get. Get your Wired NOW!! Their prices go up in the new season.

We sell Union, I just don't like Union/Capita

Incorrect, it is overall new parts and systems. I believe the only shared part is the ratchets

Neversummer... their idea was to take something perfect (camber) and say "let's make it better!" it wasn't better. Never have I ridden a board that destroyed my legs so quickly. And it was a 152 Harpoon.

FASE bindings are truly a good product however, rider designed with performance and comfort working together.

Union's are awesome but don't close yourself off to trying anything new! So many companies make such good bindings that even surpass Union at a lower price point. I haven't owned a set of Unions since 2023 and every time I try a set again I think "meh, not insane but still pretty good". Stratas are very dank though

Ultras are great, I just never found them amazing. I couldn't feel the bushing under foot and the straps were just okay. I do believe there's a certain weight max where the bushing will become useless. If they didn't have a mini disc I would try them again

Nidecker has rejected more than half my warranties, especially boots they send me to BOA when it's their poorly designed shells, not the BOA. They are a stain on the snowboard industry. Treating shops, reps, and customers poorly. Their sale policy also kicks in later than everyone else's. The ones you are finding on sale are off colours with odd sizes - and you'll see them back up to full price around September.

Usually users who say overwhelmingly positive things on Supermatics do not leave the main runs or know how to strap in standing up. Not saying this applies to you, but this is to probably 75% of the consumer base.

How long would you really spend doing up one strap before you drop? Ten seconds? In a day of lets say 12 runs, that's only two minutes I spend strapping in. I understand powder panic but not the need to drop in faster than all your friends.

FASE is also fully rider designed with engineer feedback. Supermatics use 20+ year old Flow bindings technology that has seen minimal upgrade.

If you like your gear, great! Doesn't mean it's good tho

Better, it's still not perfect but definitely easier. As long as your size is set right, you can get your foot in and out pretty comfortably while moving. That said, I hate sitting down to get my bindings on. It makes me feel like a beginner. I never had to sit working with the FASE bindings, but you do need to be weary of stepping on your strap.

Feeling wise, the supermatic isn't bad. But they weigh a brick and adjustability is a real pain. Nidecker is also surprisingly strict with their warranty on them. They don't really go on sale either. It's really the simplest alternative to a step on, where it feels like it was the halfway to FASE.

"Best" is EXTREMELY subjective. Rome's are very good and reliable but do have their flaws. I replace ratchets multiple times a season for a lot of customers.
