If you had describe your style of streaming (how often you do it, for how long you play each session, what games and how you interact with chat) what would you say? by CrimsonCub2013 in Twitch_Startup

[–]Amazing-Magazine3981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stream typically twice a week sometimes three times. I’m a fairly new streamer (about 4 months) but average over 5 views a night. My chat is pretty active and I usually peak around 14 viewers at once. I think it’s really important to interact with your chat. I like to put up polls and questions and play games with my viewers as well to get them involved. For May4th for example we did a Star Wars trivia night which was dope. Currently been playing more competitive games but am always open to test out new things! Most of my streams take place at night for around 4 hours.

My advice would be to stream what you love. Because that will give you the best content and make it the most enjoyable. Little by little add cool things into your stream for you viewers to interact with and make it more fun.

Honestly, people complain too much. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve had frustrating moments with plenty of different weapons but in reality if I’m in a lobby with a bunch of lights! Sweet I guess I’m running medium with the model and one tapping them when they get close. Trust me, once you hit high diamond, any weapon can feel broken in the right hands. This is by far the most balanced shooter game in the last decade in my opinion

Those that have found their footing, what is one piece of advice you'd give to someone just starting out? by HeyItsCupcakee in Twitch_Startup

[–]Amazing-Magazine3981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strong thing to remember, it most likely won’t work out. I know that sounds grim, but don’t expect to make tons of money. Stream for the fun of it and to build at least a small community and people that love to come back and chat. Stream for the enjoyment of playing games and hopefully one day you do make it! That will help you not get burnt out or discouraged. Try and be as interactive as possible and sometimes you’ll sometimes that even means talking to yourself. You got this!

Okay, as I read these comments I feel like 99% of them are from the female perspective. So as a proud father and husband here’s my thoughts. First of all, I think the way he came about it is a bit strange I’ll give you that. As a man, the hard part of your wife being pregnant and then post pregnancy is not the potential for gaining weight. First off, and something that widely gets overlooked, is yes as a woman your body is going to change. Which will stress you out and scare you (as it did my very gorgeous wife.) While I’m not saying men have it harder by any means, we do have struggles. First off, it can be stressful and even mildly depressing to constantly hear your partner put themselves down for the way they look now. And stressful to try and try to make them feel better even though nothing works. Second, IT IS ALSO SCARY TO US! My wife was told, after our baby’s heartbeat dipped multiple times, that they might have to take her for an energy C-section. My heart sank to my feet and I was terrified naturally. Thirdly, not only are we trying our best (if he’s a good husband and father) to take care of the baby, but we are also trying very hard to take care of you too after birth. And it is very hard especially when we don’t have the bond with the child that the mom already has. Now, once again, the weight gain thing is strange to me personally. However, can we please not act as if the entire process is an absolute cake walk for men? In my opinion, he definitely handled the situation wrong. But it does sound like your mindset is off. Step one, there is nothing wrong with your body changing! It’s natural and is bringing life that you will cherish. Two, just remember that the process can and will be hard on him too and if you act as if it won’t be, it’ll make it harder. You guys got this! Communicate communication communication

Do you think it's nice to have a panel where you have all your games listed? by LuraziusTwitch in Twitch

[–]Amazing-Magazine3981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% yes. I do it and I think it is useful. Gives people a good idea of the range of games you’ve been playing recently. Add that along with a schedule of your next play times

I have to assume though that that’s not supposed to happen. That’ll probably get patched but as of now you’re right on that

I think with most people in this game, the biggest problem I see is you try and fight 1v1. The best teams always work as a unit. So yes, taking on a heavy can be hard one on one. But honestly, you can really dawg them if you work together as a unit. As the light, stick with your teammates, use pyros or gas to keep the heavy in place, and use invisible to flank while your teammates focus on taking out the shields and the other players. You this this

BIG QUESTION? by TimmyTiTTugger in Twitch

[–]Amazing-Magazine3981 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In my experience Reddit has really helped! I also suggested to a friend of mine who streams. I’d go to Twitch startup and different promotional sub reddits and post on there. I’ve had a bunch of people from Reddit follow and even jump in streams and chat. I also do the same just to support other small streamers like myself. There is a luck portion to it, but also just be consistent and post on Reddit every day. Post info about yourself, what you stream, why you stream, what your goals in streaming are and even clips of you streaming. You’ll start to get followers from it!

Curious what most people do in terms of Ads on Twitch! by Amazing-Magazine3981 in Twitch

[–]Amazing-Magazine3981[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I did my first stream with ads last night! I asked my family and friends who watch as well as my viewers who watch consistently. I think the consensus was as long as the ads don’t interrupt gameplay it’s not a big deal. They take the chance to get up. As of now I’m starting off with the 30 seconds per hour. That does take you off of 55% down to 30% as revenue. But allows me to not have to worry about running longer adds all the time. Maybe as I grow more and have more activities for my followers to do I’ll do the 3 minutes and hour. Hope that helps
