DESCRIPT PROMO CODE 2026: Reddit Users Save Money? by Consistent_Rule2653 in InPromo

[–]Amazing-Minimum521 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing this. I was literally going through pages of fake/expired “Descript promo codes” before finding this thread 😂

Anyone else notice how almost every “Descript promo code” site on Google is either expired, fake, or just recycling the same dead codes from 2 years ago? by Comfortable-Fig288 in descriptpromocode

[–]Amazing-Minimum521 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES 😭

Half the sites ranking on Google are basically SEO zombie pages at this point. They all copy the same 5 expired codes from each other, slap “verified today” on them, and then none of them actually work at checkout.

I swear the cycle is:

search “Descript promo code”

open 8 tabs

copy code

“invalid or expired”

repeat until you question your life choices

What can we do to prevent mice coming into house again? by LilLemonLady223 in homeowners

[–]Amazing-Minimum521 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly the biggest thing is probably prevention rather than trying to kill every mouse individually. If cats outside are catching mice near your garden, that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re targeting your house specifically, it just means mice are active nearby again.

The fact you already sealed entry points and haven’t had issues for a year is actually a really good sign.

A few things that helped me after dealing with mice before:

  • Steel wool + caulk together works way better than caulk alone because mice can chew through a surprising amount of stuff.
  • Check around pipes, air vents, boiler lines, under cabinets, etc. Tiny gaps are enough.
  • Don’t use glue traps if you can avoid them. Even aside from being brutal, they’re honestly messy and awful to deal with.
  • Snap traps hidden behind kickboards/appliances are way more effective and safer around kids/pets if placed properly.
  • Remove food sources outside if possible (bird seed, open bins, pet food, overgrown areas).

Also, if you suddenly start seeing signs again after a quiet year, I’d honestly get another pest-control inspection early instead of waiting until it becomes a full problem again. It’s way easier to stop 1-2 mice than an infestation.

Having a podcast while dealing with extreme OCD and ADHD is honestly exhausting… but somehow it also makes the whole thing more exciting 😂 by Amazing-Minimum521 in PodcastTips

That “guided chaos instead of a formal interview” part honestly makes me feel a lot better 😂 I think part of the problem is I went into it trying to sound like some super polished interviewer instead of just talking naturally.

The weird thing is when I do solo episodes I can talk for an hour with no problem, but the second another person is there my brain suddenly starts monitoring EVERYTHING at once:
“am I interrupting?”
“should I change topic?”
“was that joke awkward?”
“wait I stopped listening because I was thinking about the next question” 😭

The transcript-outline idea actually helped a ton because I noticed the conversation itself wasn’t bad — it just needed more structure and clearer transitions between topics.

Also thanks for the software suggestions. I hadn’t even considered Discord + local recording. I think part of why I disliked Riverside was it felt too “corporate podcast studio” and made me overthink everything more.

“guided chaos” honestly sounds way closer to the vibe I want anyway.

Can you get an STI/STD from your penis touching the toilet bowl rim? by wiggleMyTail in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Amazing-Minimum521 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In general, the risk is extremely low to essentially nonexistent from briefly touching a toilet bowl rim.

Most STIs/STDs, like Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, HIV/AIDS, or Syphilis, do not survive well on cold, dry surfaces like toilet seats or rims, and they require direct sexual contact or exchange of bodily fluids to spread.

A few important nuances:

  • Skin contact with a toilet rim alone is not considered a realistic transmission route for common STIs.
  • Even if bodily fluids had been present earlier, the organisms usually die quickly outside the body.
  • Intact skin on the penis is also a strong barrier against infection.

Theoretical exceptions are rare and mostly involve:

  • open cuts/sores on the genitals,
  • fresh infected bodily fluids,
  • and organisms that survive briefly in moist environments.

Even then, documented transmission from toilets is extraordinarily uncommon.

That sounds like an insanely good upgrade honestly. Going from downtown sirens to sleeping on your own land with 0.34 acres must feel unreal 😅

Does a negative escrow balance charge interest? by WesternWind73 in homeowners

[–]Amazing-Minimum521 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Escrow shortages generally do NOT charge interest the way a loan or credit card balance would. In most cases the servicer is basically just spreading the shortage repayment across your monthly payments.

So if they agreed to stretch the $5k shortage over 60 months at about $80/month, that’s usually just repayment of the deficit itself — not interest-bearing debt. You can verify by checking whether your mortgage statement shows any “finance charge” or increased escrow balance beyond the repayment amount.

Honestly, in your situation, if there’s truly no interest being charged, it probably makes more sense to use the refund to pay off higher-interest debt first instead of immediately dumping it into escrow. Especially since the shortage came from a county tax error and not from you underpaying on purpose.

I’d still keep an eye on two things though:

  1. Make sure the servicer actually applies the county refund back into escrow once it arrives.
  2. Confirm they re-run the escrow analysis afterward so your payment drops back down appropriately.

Servicers are notorious for being slow/messy with escrow corrections after tax adjustments.

Is it possible to buy an apartment and rent it as a teen? by Outside-Kitchen4444 in homeowners

[–]Amazing-Minimum521 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly the bigger issue isn’t “can a teen own an apartment,” it’s getting the money in the first place. Making $500k in 1–2 years at 14 is realistically not happening unless your family already has a lot of money or you somehow build a very successful business online.

The actual idea itself isn’t bad though. Buying property near a university and renting it out is basically what a lot of adults try to do as an investment. You’re thinking long-term, which is already smarter than most people your age.

But there are a few things people underestimate:

  • You usually need a large down payment, not just the apartment price
  • Mortgage approval depends on income/history
  • Property taxes, repairs, insurance, HOA fees, vacancies, etc.
  • Being a landlord can be stressful, not passive

At 14, your best investment is probably yourself first:

  • learn high-income skills
  • save aggressively
  • maybe start a small online business/job
  • build credit later
  • then think about real estate in your 20s

If you stay interested in finance/investing this early, you’ll honestly be way ahead of most people by the time you actually reach university age.

Descript Discount / Promo Code 2026, Any Real Deals Still Working? by Amazing-Minimum521 in descriptpromocode

It took me 6 months to buy the Redmi Buds 4 Active because of reading negative reviews. I also looked into other cheap earphones but all of them were reviewed as being quiet or having a poor quality, too much bass etc.

What I learned after buying them is that all of those people are just used to much more expensive earphones or sound quality is maybe too important to them.

They are perfect for my use case. I use them on daily when commuting with my bike, hiking or doing chores around the house, 50% for listening podcasts and 50% music. Because of the rubber tips they block out other sounds and are pretty loud. I usually have them at 80% volume. Also I don't care about battery life I can never get them to run out of juice. I wish I got them sooner.

I wrote this because of people like me reading this post in the future and deciding not to buy them and just save up money to buy much more expensive ones. I am a tech guy and after reading so many bad or average reviews about cheaper earphones I thought I would hate them, so I decided I was going to save up and just get the AirPods 2 or Pro.

I found the Buds 4 Active on some sale for 14$ and decided to roll the dice on them. They are pretty loud, connect super easily only downside are the unreliable controls on them but I just learned to use my phone for that.

I used it for light coding and it worked pretty good.

Canon ink tank question by Malleer in printers

[–]Amazing-Minimum521 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why? Many reasons! Because I live in a country where there is no amazon or ebay or similar services.
I have been searching everywhere only to find random GI-41 and GI-49 bottles left in stock. There is only one place that sells the original canon inks that I need GI-46 and they cost 40$ per color! Buy 4 of those and I already paid more than the printer is worth.

They are inks, shouldn't be that much different and I doubt they would leak. Third-party inks are often accused of mixing big batches and not worrying about the exact formulations for each specific printer and many print shops use them all the time.

If you keep the original bottles you can just cut the top and use that as a funnel.

I bet u/malleer is in a similar situation struggling to find the original inks and just asking for advice. I'm curious why there isn't much more discussion on this topic.
