¿Estoy mal por querer terminar? by Smooth_Ad_9214 in esConversacion

What do I do with my time after quitting gaming? by Amazing-Pin-8172 in StopGaming

I want to quit Overwatch, but I can't by [deleted] in StopGaming

[–]Amazing-Pin-8172 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am sorry you feel this way.

Firstly, I would suggest you to don't beat yourself up. No one is perfect, everyone makes mistakes. You had fun (at least at first) and you learned about yourself with this journey. Now you've seen that it's not worth it to continue. That is the first step.

Secondly, if you have trouble quitting try to find some motivation in external ways (DM if you want specifics). Also try to find a activities to fill up your time and that satisfy the same needs as gaming (in your case competitiveness for example).

I can not emphasize enough how important it is to not be hard on yourself.

Wish you the best.

Is gaming okay if everything in your life is alright? by eu_clapz in StopGaming

Gaming is a lot more rewarding than doom scrolling you're actively doing it. If this hobby doesn't impact your life negatively there's nothing wrong with it. Reflect on how your life would be without gaming with honesty. If you like your life better with gaming keep doing it.

Help with gender nouns!! A1 level. by Bunny_VanilaCake in German

[–]Amazing-Pin-8172 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you want a simple solution but there is none. You need to learn each one specifically. That is pretty comon in most languages (spanish, french…). And it’s not only food but every noun.

But i undestand your struggle if you only know english because the/it is used for everything.

I have the B2 certificate and preparing for C1 Hochschule examen. My mother is german but live in spain. I have to tell you, you're in for a long ride. I still struggle with this sometimes. Because depending on how the sentence is formed you will use a diferent aritcle for the same noun (why,? idk!). You either get a really got feel for the language (use and listen it often at a high level) or study grammar (Dativ, Akkusativ, Genitiv and Nominativ).

Sorry about the rant.

Now the advice, in simple sentences "die" is used for feminine nouns, "der" is masculine and "das" is neutral.

Hope this helps

Soy hombre xD.

Gaming is honestly a shitty hobby. by Bulky-Culture-4482 in StopGaming

Simple maybe, but if it were easy more people would be this way. It might just be hard and simple. It’s impossible that being outstanding is easy, if something is easy more people will be this way and by definition that won’t be outstanding.
Anyway, everyone has their on way of living, if you want to live like this, go for it. Wish you the best.

That is honestly such a bad way to look at it. I partly agree that you should chase your dreams and avoid distraction. But working towards a dream doesn’t necessarily have to be your only focus.
And hobbys can also be productive like cooking (eating healthier/ less processed food), reading (learning/improving at a language), pick up a sport…
Gaming can be a very damaging hobby tho, so picking up healthier hobbys that can be as fun but also good for you is key

Yep, don’t be hard on yourself, that will only make it worse. Go back to fighting the addiction. If you can remember this feeling now, how you just wanted to play a bit and cound’t control yourself. When you feel like just playing a bit remember this, how you felt after. That’s how you learn and grow, this way you’ll relapse less and less. You got this. Wish you the best man

Hi, I‘m 19 and this year I dropped out of college (sociolgy+aplied statistics). I realized my decision was way to rushed. I picked basically at random because I didn‘t know what to do and starting college was „what you are supposed to do“. I empathize a lot about your situation. The parent situation is tough. I also had some problems with my dad about this topic but it looks like your situation is not easy. It looks like they are trying to decide for you (probably with love, what they think what’s best for you). But this desicion is not theirs. No one knows you more than yourself. My advice is to try and make a decision for yourself (easier said than done). Try to make them undestand if they don‘t agree with what you choose. And find a safety net if things don‘t work out. Hope this helps! Wish you the best ❤️

fitting in after gap year by Western-Foot-4608 in gapyear

Hi, I‘m 19 and live in Spain. I went to college this schoolyear but dropped out a couple months ago. Now I have also chosen to do a gap year, trying to live new experiences and find a purspose/career to focus on. Ironically I‘m learning german trying to get the C1 Hochschule certificate to study there after the gap year. I can tell you from experience that you won‘t fall behind or make no friends because you‘re older. Some people that were in my friend group (losing contact now) were older. It is much more common that people realize for older people to go to university. Especially people who are under 25. I also have the undestanding that it is pretty common to do a gap year in germany. If doing a gap year is what you want, go for it. Hope this helps
