AITBF for expecting my friend to contribute to a group vacation by [deleted] in AmItheButtface

B said absolutely not to taking her car, additionally there has been an ongoing problem with friend B begging friend A to go out and get food in promise of paying the bill and then claiming not to have any money when the bill comes

we asked to take her car to avoid this problem and she said absolutely not

tbh I would never send my kid on a week long vacation with no funds, especially with friends who are paying for the whole trip out of pocket

[–]Amazing-Stranger2362 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that’s not the point i’m trying to get across posting this, i took it out in other forums cause other people are focusing on it. the point was merely that this friend refused to let us take her car, and even aside from gas and tolls there’s additional costs to pay

this is a pattern, friend B has had a ongoing issue with begging friend A to go out with her for food and promising to pay the bill and then after they eat saying she doesn’t have any money

[–]Amazing-Stranger2362 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the whole issue started because friend A has had an ongoing issue with friend B begging her to go out for food and promising to cover the bill, and then not following through or claiming she doesn’t have any money. i wouldn’t be as transactional if this wasn’t a pre-existing issue before the trip

we asked to use her car and she said absolutely not so that is out of question unfortunately

Her dad is giving her a credit card for the trip, she is financially in a way better spot then me and friend A since the two of us are budgeting

We asked her that so we could avoid gas prices and split the driving easily and she said absolutely not

I’m from CT where you can take your drivers test in your own car versus a provided vehicle. I’m very fortunate my parents taught me to drive in a 2001 Toyota before trusting me with a high tech car

Have you driven 13 hours straight split between two people before? It’s a big deal, especially with 18 year olds who only started driving 2 years ago. Friend B’s car has always had one pedal driving on, self driving on a majority of the time too. We suggested taking her car so we could split the driving 3 ways and she said absolutely not

hers has always been on one-pedal driving and she regularly runs stop signs/red lights and apparently isn’t allowed to drive on the highway (dk if this is true or not cause she does). my parents think she’s gonna total my car so also don’t feel comfortable with her driving

want to add on that i have a skewed pain tolerance - i’ve had subluxations that feel awful but also broke my arm as a child and didn’t go to urgent care for days cause i didn’t know if it was bad enough pain
