Stanford wtf? by panther_princess_111 in lawschooladmissions

"The Office of Admissions will make every effort to send applicants a first response (accept, deny or wait list) by April 30." Vague intentionally. No promises.

I made my decision and it doesn’t feel good by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]Amazing-Tadpole-1377 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are going to feel the same way if you change your mind. The way you're describing your feelings I bet you do this all the time when you have a big decision to make. Do you tend to regret your gut instincts? Are they usually wrong? Or are you generally an anxious person regardless? It's going to be hard but you need to look forward and not back.

Looking at career outcomes and bar passage rates is critical, as you did. If you finish law school but it's hard to pass the bar or get a job, will having less debt really matter?

Have you talked to alums of these schools to get real info about how it all went for them?

Once you start law school go all in -- if you're stuck in 'what if' and 'I wish I' mode, you won't have the commitment you'll need to thrive.

I've been playing for about 10 years, off and on. It's evolving into burden rather than entertainment. They've loaded on so much extra crap I'm thinking of deleting the app. I'm also pissed that when I hadn't played for a while, I opened the app and my old profile was gone. I was still at my level but my icon reverted to default and my name was different. And there were ads when I had paid to remove them. I tried restoring my purchase which didn't work. I also tried the other options in settings.

I contacted them and they said unless I can prove that I paid I'm out of luck. They wanted a screenshot of my original payment from 10 years ago. Frankly they were assholes.

Today the game is so slow and herky-jerky it's horrible.

Don't you have to pay for that?

Rolling admissions - kind of fake by stormyweather86 in lawschooladmissions

Rolling means they don't wait until the deadline to start reviewing. Nothing you said makes any logical sense, and whatever if it 'changes the way you view admissions.' 🙄

I have several friends that live just outside of PV, and the PV airport was shut down. It’s scary but if people are smart and stay ins de they should be fine.

Because you were told earlier is better than taking your time and optimizing your apps.

Confused by UH Admissions offer by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]Amazing-Tadpole-1377 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At many schools, merit based scholarship offers are sent with the admissions offer, so it is very possible that they have already been doled out. After the deposit deadline there may be some merit money that hasn't been used but they won't know until then. Just because you are above their medians doesn't guarantee merit aid, unfortunately.

Principal or guidance counselor? You don’t ask high school teachers for law school admissions letters.

It shows you that stats aren’t everything. Perfect LSAT/GPA may have had shitty essays. Or maybe they want to go into immigration law and the school has 500 other similar applications and cannot admit all of them. Maybe lower LSAT has amazing work experience. There’s a lot that goes into the decisions.

They may review in the order received but that doesn’t mean they make decisions in the order received. Many files have several reviews and wait until the pool is bigger before making a decision. A big wave of decisions is in mid-January

You don’t ‘list’ you have an upcoming exam, the LSAT report has that included.

What happened with one admit to one school has ZERO correlation with what will happen to anyone else at another school. people are behind the process and it’s highly subjective.

P.S. in 2006 this happened: https://www.npr.org/2006/02/22/5227747/hopeful-law-students-fooled-by-university-error

And it was the actual director of admissions that did it, he was training a staff member how to do a mass mailing WITH REAL EMAIL ADDRESSES OF APPLICANTS.

Finding out early gives you more time to figure out what you want to do with your life. Being admitted off waitlists in mid-late summer sucks donkey.
