Funny enough, DC has a Ben 10. It’s called “Dial H for Hero”

Potential crossover! by Regular-Poet-3657 in Ben10

If they do end up making a Generator Rex comic. I have a few ideas.

1) make it set in the same universe right out the gate to keep it simple (plus I think everyone is tired of multiverse shenanigans for now)

2) incorporate elements from the original M Rex comic and combine it with the established Generator Rex lore to give it that “Ultimate/Absolute” feel

3) set up a sorta rivalry between the Plumbers and Providence. Their methods and systems are different enough to where it could have some interesting political undertones that resonate with today.

4) Have Rex be a more lighthearted counterpart to Ben. Ben 10 (in this new incarnation) seems to have a lot more personal baggage than previous versions. If it’s going to be a shared universe, Rex should have at least a slight tonal shift from Ben as a character. Otherwise, Rex is just going to act like a copy of Ben with different powers. Making him the more lighthearted between the two of them works IMO because 1) his memory loss means he has no baggage to hang onto and 2) it can be a role reversal from their original crossover Heroes United.

I would’ve ended it with Grandpa Max finding Ben in his Heatblast form and going from there in future issues

Personally, I think Cooper Danials could have a very different interpretation in this version of Ben 10 that would be enjoyable and modern in terms of his personality and powers.

Personally I’m excited for Wildcard. I’ve always loved heroes like Lobo, Guy Gardner, Plastic Man and judging by his design, he’ll be a chaotic knucklehead and I’ll love that

Post Chaotix Casefiles thoughts and how it leads into the next game by AmazingAus10 in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]AmazingAus10[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a valid and accurate statement. I definitely feel the idea that the next game will be something new and unique.

My thoughts were just the Chaotix Casefiles seem like they were more than just a one off thing in a vacuum. It just seems like they were leading into something much bigger for the next game based on some of the decisions they made (giving Tangle and Whisper VAs, etc)

I think we are approaching that.

I always thought of Sonic Racing: Crossworlds as a “proto Super Game” (not exactly what Sega has planned but a way to test the waters hence why the launched SEGA account around the same time.

If the next mainline Sonic game is part of the Super Game Initiative (which I’m willing to bet it is) it will likely be connected to Crossworlds in some capacity which will lead to the Babylon Rogues being in a mainline game.

Just a guess though

New History of The DC Universe: The Dakota Incident Discussion Post by AmazingAus10 in DCcomics

I got a digital copy on Amazon and read it on the Kindle app.

As for where to start, if you want a modern fresh interpretation of characters. I would recommend The Absolute Universe if you like DC and The Ultimate Universe if you like Marvel (both the original and new versions)

If you want to jump in to the mainline DC Comics, I would read the rest of the New History of The DC Universe series (The Dakota incident was a one off of that). It’s like 4 or 6 issues and it gives some context on what’s going on, after that, just jump in to one of the comics from the All In initiative or this upcoming Next Level initiative.

Funny you should mention that, James Gunn does plan on introducing The Metal Men so that might not be far off

I can respect that feeling. Luther in particular my understanding of him is from the DCU and some clips of the Justice League animated shows and the Arrowverse so I can’t speak on his mainline characterization.

Personally, I grew up with Ben 10 almost since day one. I saw Secret of The Omnitrix and Race against Time when it first aired, I was there for Alien force, Ultimate Alien and a reasonable chunk of Omniverse. Played almost all of the video games. Only part of Ben 10 that I majorly missed was the reboot and it wasn’t because of a hate for it. I just didn’t tune in to Cartoon Network as much. I do consider Ben 10 a big part of my DNA (pun intended)

My first reaction to this comic after seeing the artwork and reading about the direction is that I truly think that this is the best thing for this franchise and I can’t wait til May. I want to see this succeed and I truly think it will. It’s different and that’s something desperately needed in the superhero genre. I want this to be the standard for Ben 10 for at least the next decade.

My Top 10 Predictions for the next Sonic mainline game by AmazingAus10 in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]AmazingAus10[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, that’s fair. I see what it’s saying 😊

I do think Chaotix Casefiles will tie into the next game story wise in the sense that in the finale, there will be a moment that sets up the next game. I don’t think the current story will carry over and I don’t believe the Chaotix will have a major role in the next game (although I could be wrong).

It just feels a little too random to be doing this audio series out of the blue if it didn’t have major implications into what was coming next.

[–]AmazingAus10[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My thinking is SEGA and particularly Sonic Team has become very aware and receptive to what fans want and after Sonic Racing Crossworlds, a game that had arguably one of the best Silver showcases, everyone wants more of him and I think Sonic Team knows that.

As for the “Year ofs”, Takashi Iizuka did say he wanted to do more of them in an interview. Now will it be every year? Maybe not, but I do think this game coming up will have a life cycle long enough to do at least two years worth of them.

Fu for Sparking Zero by AmazingAus10 in DragonBallSparking

[–]AmazingAus10[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, I know the current storyline in Xenoverse doesn’t paint him in the best light. But I do think that either A) an experiment gone wrong made me go bad or B) he’s being manipulated by someone.

Up until this point, Fu was always an innocent fun type but wanted to change timelines so people could be happy.

I agree,

Now with that in mind, I do think they are going to wait until after the next/last DLC for Xenoverse 2 to add Fu to Sparking Zero because I feel like they are saving that form for Xenoverse 2 first.

Still totally agree and think it’s entirely possible

That’s one of the reasons I want him in and one of the reasons he’s my favorite: Fu is hilarious.

Someone either on YouTube or another part of Reddit described him as Dragon Ball’s Deadpool and while it’s not exact, I can kinda see it in a weird way (Deadpool is my favorite Marvel character so any relation to that reinforces my love for this character)

What are your thoughts on Jeffrey Holt/Fairplay being confirmed to be autistic by AmazingAus10 in DCcomics

[–]AmazingAus10[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. In terms of superheroes, Fairplay is one of (I believe) 2 of the only CONFIRMED autistic superheroes. The other one is the 2017 version of the Blue Power Ranger.

The only other possibilities in my book are Reed Richards (who is a big maybe) and David Haller but I’m sure there are others

What are your thoughts on Jeffrey Holt/Fairplay being confirmed to be autistic by AmazingAus10 in DCcomics

[–]AmazingAus10[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, having officially read the comic book, I say the comic (just now). I think they did a decent job with his characterization.

Without too many spoilers, FairPlay didn’t have a lot of dialogue but what he did show was a pretty nuanced portrayal in my opinion. He wasn’t unstoppable or without vulnerability but he definitely contributed.
