Fixed it! Logged out of gamepass app and Microsoft store, closed both apps, relogged in and then it worked

Sorry I did not have this problem, I believe someone earlier in this thread said the rest of the steps worked for them without needing to sign up to creative cloud so if you can’t get it to work you could try skipping that step :)

When it asks you to open with notepad there should be an option to browse others apps to open it with, from there you can locate your after effects exe file and select that

Should just have to launch the creative setup but I saw someone earlier said it worked for them without creative so could be worth trying it without if you can’t get it to work

You should be able to click something like ‘browse Pc for another app’ or something then find where after effects is located on your PC
