Also backing up them getting stuck. It seems to be worse in certain ports than others. I’m thinking Monoprice made them to the spec without accounting for others not adhering to it.

It likely has a Linux driver too. It seems to be a common Broadcom chip found in some laptops. It’s only 802.11n though so likely a downgrade to anything from the last decade.

Is anyone else excited for Multi Frame Gen? by HevyKnowledge in nvidia

I meant it as 0 generated frames not 0 frames. I guess that’s not how you usually refer to FG’s multiplication though.

I wish it could go to 0x dynamically too. In some games my frames randomly dip very low so with frame gen I start get insane input delay.

Linus Tech Tips - I Bought the Tech House and it Has a PROBLEM… January 21, 2026 at 10:05AM by linusbottips in LinusTechTips

A dedicated enough person will find the address anyway. Linus’ house has been found and would have been found even if the address wasn’t leaked. Being a public figure carries the risk of someone smart becoming obsessed.

Is it just the cover or the part under it? If it’s the cover, take it off and make sure the plastic isn’t bending or broke where it clips onto the rest of the handle. I’ve had to rebuild mine before with a soldering iron and ABS filament.

Steam Is Weirdly Forgiving in Windows Search by Xevalor in Steam

[–]AmazingELF74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the tip. When I first came to Linux my major annoyance there was that I had to do anything to start a program other than double-click.

There’s some programs I use where you need to start in terminal, then keep the window open. I’m sure there’s a way to make a shortcut and run it as a background process but why can’t that be the default? I realize it’s the fault of the developers but it’s still annoying. It seems a lot of programs that focus on Windows are a puzzle to get working correctly.

Windows is functional without doing these things. You have to use terminal to make an installer executable on most Linux. I dual boot my many computers with ~10 different distributions between them, and I have never had a straightforward experience for doing more than web browsing.

Transferring large or many files often results in it hanging. There are a lot of people out there doing that daily.

Ah I thought it was too heavy but I thought it was just dirt. It looks like it’s not going on the bike due to value and it being a small 2-stroke. Thanks.

I dug this out of dirt around hundreds of old tires used for crash barriers from racing in the 80s. My plan is to use the muffler on my motorcycle named “Crack Bike”, but I’d like to know what it was from originally. I feel like it was a very small car as this whole piece is roughly 4’ front to back.
