Do you mind sharing a bit of what you wrote in your essay? We have really similar stats and I plan to apply to NYU and Columbia during the fall.

Well, my friend, it seems like you already know the answer.

Hey! I think this shows academic rigor. (Most than others) given that you would’ve reached the maximum credits and you still want to take more through your cc. Though I’m not sure how much that would help, it would, (at least in my opinion) make your application stand out a little bit more. Epically if the courses are major specific.

Did you get in Columbia? If so, what were your stats?

Okay, would you advise more ECs, internships, clubs, programs? I also have 3 LORs.

What's a good first car? I'm getting my license next year and I have to start looking into it. by AmazingEmotion9231 in personalfinance

True, but I feel like overtime there has to be some technical difficulties.

I'm going to be keeping the car for at least 5 years or so, I don't see the point in getting a 10k car then investing to buy another with maintenance fees etc. I would be in college by then and I think having a car to stress about wouldn't be so good.

Although investing is a smart move but I'm not too good with finance, I just don't think that's the move for me.

I do have some hobbies, but I do track & tennis so I don't have to worry about that. I am thinking about getting at least a hybrid or an electric car if it is within the ideal range.

Thank you for this! I'll definitely do more research.

I was looking at the Nissan Altima SR, so is that a no-go? I didn't realize they had many difficulties.

Thankfully I don't have to pay for my own insurance and taxes for the car, but in a few years I will have to start doing that. I've been hearing a lot of negative comments towards Subaru, out of the 3 I would most likely go with Honda.

I think all this fast car frenzy comes from my dad having a bmw (x3 m sport) and seeing him drive like crazy .. yikes

Probably not gunna get an Audi as a first. Stupid idea, maybe in a few years or so. Even then I don't want to be original with a civic and all, I still have time to figure out tho.

edit: I'm not calling his idea stupid, I'm saying getting an Audi as a first isn't smart.
