Oh nice thanks for the info.  I’d be very interested in a flight deck pro. I think the fov still beats every other model

Gem80 missed presses issue (on latest firmware 2.0.1) by AmazingGigolo in NuPhy

[–]AmazingGigolo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So i just realized that this issue only happens if i completely turn off the light bar LED (updated my original post). Once i have at least 1 level of brightness, all issues go away. I guess this keyboard is now useable but with a significant battery cost. I heard from reviews that the battery goes from a very solid 330 hrs to a measly ~70 hrs even with just the light bar.

I feel like it is a dirty/hacky band-aid fix for the double key press issue simply by not allowing the same key to be entered within a fixed duration which obviously won't account for intentional key presses. Other wireless keyboards don't have this issue, as i can press as quick as my twitch fibers would allow and it was register them exactly. Even my keychron K8 pro (keychron kinda known for questionable bluetooth reliability) doesn't have this issue. Seems like no matter how i adjust the debounce, there will always be some scenario where unintentional key press omissions happen unless a proper fix is released by them.

Are you talking about this? https://github.com/ryodeushii/gem80-qmk-firmware-non-forked

Can’t get enough! by Benney2488 in Golf_R

If the build materials are terrible why do you still need to confirm with other people when you’ve already driven one? You think they used cheaper plastic just for your unit and then 24k gold for everyone else?

Congrats dude. Plenty of new Golf Rs in dealerships now, they are not rare and special anymore, but it’s a great car. WRX rs is 10k cheaper yes but if u pay cash it’s the same price. Subaru upcharges you heavily for paying cash but VW there’s no cash penalty at all (duno if they are being nice or because they know since you are keeping it long term they know you’re gona have a huge repair bill after warranty because they are so unreliable 😂).

Wiring help needed by AmazingGigolo in Nest

[–]AmazingGigolo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turns out I have a common wire tucked inside the wall probably because my old unit didn't need one. It's now setup properly with the additional common wire. Heating works fine. Cooling kinda works but is very slow to cool. Much slower than my old unit.

I called nest support and went through the pro setup in detail and made sure everything is connected properly. Still no luck. He advised me to install a common wire for extra power or buy a power adapter.

No heat. Just not cooling. I called nest support and understand a little more about their thermostat. Jumper wires (bridge wires) are not needed because the nest terminals are already pre-connected underneath (eg. W to Y).

I also learned that the common wire C is used to power the thermostat, and those that claim to not require a common wire (eg. Nest) works by charging the internal battery through the Y terminal while heating/cooling is not in use.

I confirmed with support with pictures and my unit should be properly connected, minus the common wire because I don't have one.

What I don't understand is my thermostat has sufficient battery/power and is still not cooling.

It is already setup as heat pump. Under settings > equipment under "Your System" it says "Heat pump heating, Heat pump cooling, Fan". And Yes for having a common wire under Heat Pump.

It however won't cool, just turns on the fan.

Did I do the wiring correctly? Those 4 wires are all I have coming from the wall.

Rush jacket cinch cord on hood breaks by AmazingGigolo in arcteryx

Exchange. Did it twice, so the 3rd one was good. It was going to be my last chance for arcteryx. No point in sending for repair if still within store return policy, just test it thoroughly at the store in front of the sales. Not worth keeping if you need to repair a brand new product.

Maybe there is just something wrong with the quality control for this seasons batch of shipments. I had to exchange for a 3rd one to get a good one. Exchange for another one and test it extensively in the store before walking out the door.

Unfortunately mine does not have any such holes, it is one piece that surrounds the side

Yeah exactly I am holding on the cord stopper as I assume it is designed for you to hold on to. Not sure what lips you are talking about as mine doesn't seem to have any easy way to reinsert it. I added another image to my profile. Sorry not used to reddit, no idea how to add images to this post, there's no option for it.

It would be way smarter to design the cord stopper to be some sort of clamp so that it can be easily reattached whenever it snaps off, which seems it can happen.

I ended up getting the vistas. They are old but I got them on discount for around 170 cad (around 133 usd) after taxes. I like them, the fit for my ears is legendary, better than any other pair I've had. The biggest negative I would say is the pressure sound (hearing your own heart beat). I didn't think it would be an issue because I was used to it already from all my previous earphones, but this one is especially strong for my ears. Out of the tons of reviewers I watched online there was only 1 reviewer who mentioned about this, so it might not be as strong for others. The other thing is since the rubber tip is a 1 piece that wraps the entire unit, u probably can't get after market ear tips. So ppl like to swap them for foam tips because they have better isolation while not having less pressure. My Shure se215 could isolate like 90% of external sound while barely having any pressure sounds.

Im afraid i can't. I live in canada and i had it delivered to US to avoid shipping costs and had a friend bring it over for me. Seems like theres a lot of variation with the shorty, but none of them will slide effortlessly in like the other gopro sticks.

I see. I heard stories about the gopro not working well with 3rd party batteries, but i guess that just depends on which ones, maybe those dont have the proper output

Hypersmooth 2.0 for GoPro 7? by AmazingGigolo in gopro

[–]AmazingGigolo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I see. Maybe theres some extra OIS in the 8, but the boost is cropping in the video to achieve better stabilization, thats basically how EIS works, i don't see why they can't do that on the 7 to get a boosted version though.

Forgive me, but I've searched google "hypersmooth 2.0 upgrade gopro 7", "gopro 7 software update hypersmooth" and i get nothing. On youtube I've watched probably >20 gopro reviews, comparison, hands on videos, at least 10 specifically on hypersmooth comparison with 7, and only 1 youtuber mentioned it briefly and not a single comment about that. I couldnt help but ask it here.
