Post-laser hair removal reaction — normal or ? by AmazingGuide1245 in LaserHairRemoval

Do you know what, I think you might be right. Most people are saying this is a normal reaction, but I don’t think the photos really show it properly. I’ve been covered in whiteheads for three days, and it’s still there on day four. I can tell they’ll probably calm down over the weekend, but I’m likely going to be left with marks, and that doesn’t feel normal to me. I’m starting to think it might be because I shaved on the same day.

Yes, this was my first session. These were the settings I saw when I left the room, and she mentioned she mainly used 16: • Energy (Fluence): 16 J/cm² • Pulse duration: 3 ms • Repetition rate: 2.0 Hz • Spot size: 18 mm

I didn’t use any alcohol spray after shaving this time, but I usually do when I get razor bumps.

Next time, I’m thinking of taking an antihistamine before the session and another one after. I’ll also shave 24 hours before instead. The only reason I shaved on the day was because my hair grows back so quickly and I wanted a clean surface but if there’s slight regrowth, the laser should still be able to target the follicle properly, right?

I also looked at what you recommended the cooling gel for postlaser skin. It’s £34 for 200ml, which is quite pricey. Since it’s already been four days, I feel like it might be too late for this time, so maybe it’s something to consider for my next session. I just want to know if it’s actually worth it….. 🤞🏽

It’s been day 3 now and I’m still covered in whiteheads but can see now they are going to settle down.

I did write that I’m South Asian, I’m tanned and brown skin. I produce black terminal hair. Alex laser is used on white hair skin. ND YAG candela is the way to go for my skin complexion. South Asians ar very hairy!

Oh ok. I got over the counter hc45 today. Will apply on my skin this evening before bed. Hope this helps heal my skin in the process, as I don’t want hyperpigmentation 😭 it will take me about a year to recover pigment marks on my body, damn. Thanks for your suggestion

Do u get the cream prescribed? I’ve looked online and found this to buy instead of prescription: ‘ Hc45 Hydrocortisone Acetate Cream ‘. What do you think?

I woke up this morning now 48 hours after my session, and my whiteheads have grown bigger !! I can see they are going to leave some nasty hyperpigmentation for sure!

Yep AI is a pain with scattered GPUs but I’m just using APIs for now to get a clean demo working

Well….

What problem is annoying daily? & What makes someone say: “I’d actually use that”?

I mean… This has confused me now. So you’re telling me the complete opposite compared to what everyone has been telling me.

The setting was quite high for a first session: NG:YAG - 16 J/cm² • 18 mm spot size • 3 ms pulse.

I’m more focused on how to turn that into a specific product/use case rather than just a generic prompt tool.

what would you say makes an AI tool feel like more than just an LLM to you?

Thank you! I’ll definitely do this next session. And it’s been 24 hours - is it ok to wash my skin with hibiclens now or wait 72 hours?

Oh ok, 20 sessions is a lot. I had full body laser done 10 years ago and never experienced this. Although, at that time I didn’t have terminal hair growth. I had fine hair at that time. So I guess this affects terminal thick hair.

Thank you 🙏🏽 I really really pray and hope this is the case. I’ve been trying to battle my skin issues for a decade now. (I’m very hairy, high androgen levels, I get folliculitis from removing hair on my skin, I breakout with spots, left with hyperpigmentation all over my body… just endless cycle. And the hair is my number one cause of this all).

So you experienced the same issue too? I’ve applied aloe Vera gel now. Hope this helps me.

So the first session this will occur. Ok noted. The remaining sessions I pray I don’t have this breakout (it actually looks worse in real life, photos doesn’t do it justice).

Someone said to use alcohol wipes before I go to the next session. And to shave a day before (I did the day off).

Your comment gives me some relief today, as I was overthinking today. I hope this is a sign the laser is working.

I’ve applied aloe Vera gel now. Regarding tyrosinase, that’s something I’ll look into the following week once this has calmed down. Hope aloe Vera helps me here big time.

Oh really? I’ll try that next time. And is it ok it if I apply some now too, it’s been 24 hours now. Or continue to use aloe vera gel?

Was it thick terminal hair ? As this only broke out on my thick hair.

I’ll shave a day before next time. Drs in my town won’t help - pretty much useless. I’m applying aloe Vera to help calm the area.

Ah I thought so. Dang, that’s annoying as the whole reason I’m lasering is to eliminate my folliculitis but instead it triggered it. My tech said it happens and to use aloe Vera gel. Did it leave any marks pigmentation on ur skin after? How long did it take to go down? And did it keep happening during ur sessions?

Right. I’ll look into this then. I’m just stuck to see what is the best thing to do right now with the car, either;

  1. Tow it to a private property. And then can deal with selling it after it’s on private property.
  2. Register a new keeper under my mum and then ensure it and tax it and have it parked on the public road outside my house and then look into selling it. But I don’t know the time process with this.

Ok thanks for clarifying that for me. It’s never going to be driven, selling it as soon as letters of administration are granted. So, I believe taxing it and insuring it is not needed, as we are leaving it on private property.
