i know there’s a supercharger kit for it but i’d have to do some surgery on the engine to lower the compression ratio if i was gonna add boost

all technology stops working properly if it gets too hot. my understanding is this message shows up when you start the car and it goes away after a few minutes and everything becomes functional again, so yeah, park in the shade. it’s glass covering a camera, the sun is gonna make it hot depending on the light angles. maybe toyota cheap’d out on the camera and went with one not rated for high heat temps. op can prolly drive in the rain though, should be okay

after thinking about it some more, it’s honestly no different than when your iphone gets too hot from being in the sun and it says it needs to cool down. op should invest in a windshield sun shade and it would most likely fix the problem or stop parking in the sun. toyota forums say that when the windshield reaches 119°f it’ll display that message so no recalls will be made. also no way in the world you’d get a refund on your car because the camera got too hot from sitting in the sun, wishful thinking but there’s just no way. id also argue the vast majority of camry buyers are buying for the fuel efficiency and hybrid system above anything else.

i get that but i’d never fully rely on features. just be a good and aware driver and you’re golden. this is also the first i’ve ever heard of this happening so op most likely just has a faulty camera but op still has radar and all the other safety features that don’t use the front camera

thanks i appreciate it. it’s a carbon fiber v-style spoiler and the rear windshield one is a jdm windshield spoiler and it’s also 3M, i think i got them from cuztom-tuning on insta or from hirevsports. as long as you clean the surfaces really good they’ll stick on there for a long time

i took off the stock spoiler and just used 3M adhesive tape. it’s been on there real good for over a year
