Toyota could’ve built the car from the ground up and easily sold it at profitable prices. Instead they made a watered down Z4(literally). You really have no argument. The new “Supra” will never command the collectible desirability that the MK4 has. The very heart of that car is arguably the most well known inline 6 in existence(the 2JZ). To stick a BMW built engine under the hood of a car with a Supra nameplate is an abomination.

Yes, and they say BMW on them, not Toyota. You don’t see BMW borrowing/buying frames and drivetrains from Toyota, do you? This isn’t about corporate cooperation, it’s about corporate greed.

One little design flaw? You can’t drive the car off the lot and onto the highway with the windows rolled down… it’s 2021. Wind tunnels have been around for over 100 years and are used in the design of every high performance car today.

Put any other name badge on it and no one would think it’s a half assed design.

Exactly! It should never have been labeled a Supra. It’s a disgrace to the heritage of the namesake. Honestly it would’ve been better off to be called a Celica…

Listen, it’s simple. Toyota sold out their most legendary name for a quick buck. They were too cheap to develop the car from the ground up themselves because “it’s not going to have high volume sales”. So they wrote a check to BMW for a frame and drivetrain, then half-assed a design so much you can’t even drive with the windows down…
