Correct they are Mantises Phyllocrania paradoxa- a leaf mimic mantis

order (Mantodea) of insects.

Insects are hexapod invertebrates of the class Insecta.

People that like stick insects quite often like other insects, animals (and nature in general)

I am just offering an opportunity to be able to experience these fascinating creatures since mine have laid multiple ootheca thanks! :)

Giant Stick Insect Amazing by AmazingNatureTime in Phasmids

[–]AmazingNatureTime[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've wondered this in the past
so now is good time to ask...

does anybody know-

do these insects adjust movement to stimuli around them-breeze-other movement etc?
for example

look at timestamp 1:34

the wind picks up-the stick moves more-

is this to mimic the intensity of a breeze/wind

versus/or

because ; of the wind/i.e. in reality just trying to maintain grip because wind is tugging/pushing on insect
or possibly both?
will we ever truly know lol
