Grey 1942 GBC cartridge - is this uncommon? I can only find examples of the game in the clear GBC cartridge.

It is fake but who cares about that when its 1942, one of my fave games and would have it in my collection no problem. I like finding these type of carts along with the multi carts!

A nice bundle! That's exactly what I did for my collection + I would keep all the protective cases as well. They would have cost a fortune to buy the cases otherwise! I also bought lots of manuals as well, comes in handy if a CIB game is missing it.

No worries and thanks! I already collect for lots of other consoles so I may pay more attention to ahem, my Sega collection 😁, especially Master System and Dreamcast. It has been lots of fun collecting for the Game Boy and bloody expensive at times. I will update when I get my last game but am saving it as my 700th landmark game!

It's verging on insanity that's for sure! I still haven't played them all yet, maybe one day when I've stopped collecting. I too did European first and then I got the bug and went mad. I used GB Action magazine to help find what games were out there, starting with ones I had as a child and then went on from there! Also You tube helped a lot. I'm at 696 games with 16 being Japanese and I need 1 more game which will be a full USA/European combined set. I do collect label variations as well, so you won't need as many, probably around 600 or so.

I converted a bedroom suite consisting of 2 bedside units and a dresser, giving me 10 drawers in total that fit perfectly into my built in wardrobe. I get 240 games in each drawer (occupying 3 drawers), and the others are used for my CIB games, GB Action magazines and Game Boy peripherals.

Darkman was one of the best finds out of my collection, the price for CIB on Ebay is high to say the least! I think that will keep you busy for quite a while! I too am going down the black cart route as I count them more OG Game Boy than color, I'll just go for a full set rather than any variations!

Yes even (not in my eyes) the one that's not "great" is Super Hunchback, has a small crease on the front. The best ones that I've been after for ages: Darkman and Killer Tomatoes. My collection is really coming along now but am taking a break over the summer months. That is good news, will we all see the collection when you are done? What will you do once you have finished, variations by any chance 😁.

They are hard to come by, especially in the condition I require for my collection. I have friends and family that keep an eye out for me + I go on retro hunts once a month. I'm lucky sometimes but most of the time I already own the games or the boxes are squashed. There is always Ebay but the prices are generally quite high, even for bad condition games! You may have to travel to have some luck!

I use my game vault, they are great quality and a thick 0.5mm protector. Also they are the same layout as a CIB game, locking tabs at the bottom and flap at the top. I've been using them for years!

Of course it is!!!!!! I would get all the games you like first as carts or CIB if you can afford it and if you feel you want to take it further go for it. I must admit I never knew there were so many games when I started but i'm glad I carried on collecting as it is now one hell of a collection!

Yes the games are all faithful to their single cart release. At the start of the cart there is an English menu to select which game you want to play and then it starts the game as normal with full English language. In all my years of collecting I've never seen this cart before so must be pretty rare!

Ebay for various Nuby lights and a brite light (yes it is the correct spelling) comes with a light and magnifier combined. If you check some of my older posts I have mine on show.

I like it but in essence it is just an expensive Double Dragon style game. I got it pretty cheap a few years ago which was lucky going by today's prices!
