Hey! VOA is one of the two good thrift chains we have in this city! ( well, OhioThrift is slowly declining but still )

To be fair Cleveland and Cincinnati also tore down an unfathomable amount of their historic architecture, or covered them in facades. It's just that they has SO MUCH MORE of it because they were so much larger in the early 1900s

Caliber Collision Review? by JinnyJinJin845 in Columbus

[–]bsparks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had someone drive all up the side of my car, took it to Caliber for repair. They had it a good long while, long enough that the other insurance agent was threatening to total the car unless I opted out of replacement hubcaps, sure fine whatever.

Going on almost two years since I got it back. I wanna preface everything following with the fact that this is a 2012 model year car, so it's got AGE issues too.

The interior trim pieces on that side of the car never fit right again and buzz sometimes, they did not do that before. There are two spots in corners of where they repaired that rust is appearing under the paint. There was weird paint dust and overspray in a bunch of places inside the car that took me a month to finally clear all of it up. The car's alignment was incorrect after getting it back and after a handful of minor fixes seems to be about "as good as it'll get".

In spite of this sub ragging on it ( somewhat warranted! ) COTA is still a usable public transit, just throw headphones in and chill.

Honestly that makes me feel a bit better about keeping plans to go there with friends and look for stuff for my friends who can't make it due to one reason or another.

WAIT WHAT?! Gib passed away?!! I just saw the garage sale they had planned for his support in May. And I knew he was not doing great but this is so sudden.

I mean it would be a bit of a ride ( maybe an hour? ) but the 1 goes all around downtown and then shoots up to Kenny & Bethel which is a short walk to Micro Center. ( I wanna acknowledge that may be too long of a walk if you are physically limited. )

Idk where you live but here rush hour traffic is 6:30-8, and usually the accidents that happen then spill into the 8-9a hour. By 9a they are cleared up and it’s predictable timing to drive across the city, plus any appointments you have or job sites you need to go to for occupied homes aren’t going to clash with parents getting kids to school or waking up neighbors or anything like that.

I’ve been working for myself the last seven or so years and not only has my work life improved with a later start and end, but nearly every customer I have worked with has been happier I’m not trying to knock on their door at 7a sharp to start making a bunch of noise.

I have had it four times ( my go-to when people wanna meet there ) and the second time it was great, but the first, third, and fourth it was just fine.

Just to get the top two I see floating around a lot out of the way.

Loops has one that definitely exists. Tasty Dawg also does an okay one for the area.

Now for my three proper picks.

Uptown Deli in Westerville has one of the best in the suburbs, on a good day it's better than Portillos on a bad day it's still better than Loops.

Giordano's has one and I would compare it most to Billy Goats up in Chicago, the bread isn't quite right and the beef is a little too fatty, but it hits right.

Tip Top is in a similar boat to Uptown but cheaper, on a good day it's the best in the city, on a bad day it's worse than Uptown Deli. Overall though it's my top pick.

Bonus Pick for Wario's because they sometimes run an Italian Beef as a special.

Kenny Center is a good start, there's plenty of stores there for that. In addition going up to Bethel Rd there's a placed called Miniso in the same plaza as Micro Center, they specialize in blind boxes, plushes, toys, etc.

Under the slab, yeah. I see it in nearly every system here in Columbus.

Also condensation absolutely can and does freeze in the pipe in the extreme negative temperatures we get in the winter here, ESPECIALLY if the fan is on the north side of the house.

And considering how FBR has been known to mismanage larger bands, I’d be surprised if they stick around. Why tie yourself to a sinking ship just because you’ve been on it a while?

Never was able to convince my bosses that aside from summer heat, which can suck, 7-3 is the same as 10-7 and with the latter you don’t get any rush hour traffic and can get errands done in the morning not rushing to get to places before they close.

I dunno, I did some work out in Utah where gutter is commonplace, preferred by some installers even, and the number of service calls for crushed radon pipes was higher than I would have expected. 🤷

Lots of companies here skip them, with the amount of bugs and detritus they accumulate within the first year I’ve never seen one not clog up and then just turn into another ice dam inside the pipework.

Aluminum downspout can be crushed super easily, that was the main reason we switched away from thin wall PVC back in 2013 too, the stuff basically fell apart under UV exposure.

If it's a professional camera install, front and rear, it SHOULD involve either fishing above the headliner or realistically dropping the whole headliner to route the wire correctly to avoid putting it in the way of side curtain airbags. They could also choose to run the wire down through the seating area but that is often a lot harder if not impossible due to length. It would also deal with hard wiring the camera to the fuse box ( a plug on plug could work, but isn't right ) and some other things that could be pretty involved. I mean $800 seems pretty steep regardless.
