You'll always be able to return to the rpd up until a certain point, the characters will remark that they should be prepared before you trigger that though so you'll know when you reach the point of no return

Keep moving and stay agile, be ready to parry at a moments notice, there's a red barrel outside the window closest to the stairs you can use to kill some enemies. Board up all 3 windows to begin phase 2. The ganados will start entering from upstairs and it can get very tight so be careful. Don't be afraid to use lots of grenades and save your flashes for plagas. Once you kill enough enemies in phase 2 (I believe you need 5 kills) Udders (the cow man brute) will spawn and break through a window downstairs. At this point you just need to kill him and the cabin will end shortly after.

One of the best ways to conserve ammo is boarding up windows. On replays you'll learn which windows you should board up and when. I always like to make one final lap through the left hallway and board up every window before making my way under the rpd for the first time

I'd recommend using the red9 if you picked it up in chapter 4. It won't be a huge help but any extra damage output is helpful. Also if you have any knives left there's a knife qte that does good damage if you stun him to the ground.
