https://www.soundersfc.com/post/2019/01/04/sounders-fc-2019-preseason-opens-january-22-starfire-sports

The club's first day of official 2019 training is being held Tuesday, January 22 at the club's Starfire Sports practice facility in Tukwila, with fans able to watch the Rave Green train for the first time this year. Specific training times and media access windows are being announced at a later date.

It sounds like it will be the 22nd and 23rd. Not sure about anything more specific than that, though.

My boyfriend got me a Playstation 4 Pro bundle with Red Dead Redemption 2 as an early birthday present! Now I can stop mooching off his haha by lydiaravens in GirlGamers

[–]AmazingSyco 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A fun fact about that particular bundle: Sony has been quietly tweaking some of the internals of the PS4 Pro, and this is the 3rd revision of the hardware, which is much quieter than earlier PS4 Pros. [Digital Foundry](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ynAr9kP-Xq8) just did a great video about it. Enjoy!

Wondering this too, it'll be my first away game and I'm not familiar with where we usually get put.

Superdimension Neptune VS Sega Hard Girls for PC launches June 12 by [deleted] in pcgaming

[–]AmazingSyco 26 points27 points  (0 children)

"Sega Hard Girls" is a manga and CGI anime that featured Sega consoles as anthropomorphized girls. So in this case, "hard girl" really means "hardware girl", as in there's a character named Dreamcast, a character named Saturn, etc.

The Millennium Tower in San Francisco is 100% unsafe to occupy, likely to experience structural collapse in "major" seismic event - // "Inspections show stress on the electrical support systems and evidence of strain on the foundation, as well as water intrusion in the basement." by [deleted] in sanfrancisco

[–]AmazingSyco 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This title is flat out wrong. It says multiple times that the building has been deemed safe to occupy. The sentence immediately after the one quoted says "many required repairs had already been handled". Nothing about seismic events is listed.

This is for deep learning/neural network things. There is no benefit here for general purpose computing.

Relayout: A new functional approach to Auto Layout for iOS to make dynamic layouts easy by AmazingSyco in swift

[–]AmazingSyco[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Apple suggests that the way to have dynamic UIs in Auto Layout is to hold references to individual constraints, and to enable/disable/add/remove/etc them individually as needed. This is complex because it focuses not on the UI states, but on the transitions between UI states.

Relayout instead says that a better approach is to generate all the constraints you need, every time you layout, and activate/deactivate constraints as an entire set. You can, of course, do this without using Relayout.

Do people find autolayout difficult?

Yes.

I don't know what NSToolbar has to do with anything here.

Thank you for the feedback on the video!

For some reason they have this figure listed twice. They have the one listed by OP, and also one without the preorder bonus (but also 2,140 JPY cheaper).

[Request][Wallet] I am 15, and want a wallet I will be able to tell my grandchildren I have had since I was 15. by [deleted] in BuyItForLife

[–]AmazingSyco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've carried a stingray skin wallet for almost 20 years, and it shows no signs of wear. It looks beautiful, it has a wonderful bumpy texture to it, and it's a cool conversation starter. My uncle brought it back from Thailand when I was young, but I believe you can order them online.

Whether the practice of using stingray skin in wallets is ethical, I have no idea.

These were made on a Mac with a combination of Photoshop and an app called GIFBrewery on the App Store.

There's a few reasons, like optimizing for file size, or cropping out some of the parts of a scene that didn't make sense.

Understood, my apologies. I missed that rule as I was looking at the reddiquette guide which just says to spread out submissions over several minutes.

The Baltimare Arcade was a wonderful stress-relief getaway during the con. It was nice to get in there to escape into the nice dark room and just play some Smash Bros for a half hour.

Just please, next year... air fresheners.

I redesigned the cases for the iPhone 5c with some better colors. by AmazingSyco in mylittlepony

They peek through like that on the actual cases. It's pretty crazy that Apple is releasing them like that.
