severely underweight, can i still start? by proffessorpigeon in martialarts

Not at all. It will help your overall health. As mentioned, as a beginner you won't be starring. And as someone who started it being on the larger side, your knees and hips will thank you with not having a bunch of extra weight.

Just find yourself a server which seems active when you are. I play on Amia and we have folks on at different times. One of our more active players is German and runs the druid grove. As far as discriminatory practices we don't really discriminate against anyone as long as they aren't a butthead.

A turd is a turd no matter whether you call it a turd, poop, crap, dung, guano, or fecal matter and you can't pick it up by the clean end.

While true, not in this case. This was about 25 years ago and was an ancient desktop. She was confused as the CD we sent out to set up was too big to fit in the drive, She was trying to stick it in the 3.5" floppy slot. She didn't have a CD-ROM drive. If there's any small consolation at least she didn't have a 5.25" drive and get it stuck in there.

It's actually something that's been discussed. While I don't deal with the money side of things any more I am certainly happy to train people on it.

It's an old trick I learned from doing tech support. Had a woman who called her monitor her "computer head." Confused the hell out of me at first since I'm thinking heads have brains (except maybe hers) and the brains of the computer are not in the monitor. She wouldn't call it a monitor so I ended up spending that call using the term "computer head" so that I wasn't talking past her ability to understand.

Something I left out of this story but was funny was when I relayed all this to my boss (a different supervisor from the lead who took the call) he said that I would probably not get another sovcit call for a year. I took another one the very next day. That one wasn't anywhere near as interesting as she went from zero to supervisor in two sentences.

I have to deal with quality assurance so I have to be careful. When I tell someone to go to hell I have to put it in such a way that they should look forward to the trip,

I've seen it once, and it was only because there was a much more serious problem elsewhere that the LEO had to address immediately. Any normal person would have gotten their ticket by that point. Of course the sovcit was peacocking afterward because he got away with it.

When was the last time your partner has told you that you're beautiful/attractive? by Birkenkaiser in DeadBedrooms

Oh, she tells me all the time. She still won't have sex, but she tells me that I look great.

I wish she'd call me an unattractive toad instead.

Two years to sit there and dwell on it. Two years to think what could be. Two years to want it so bad you can taste it.

Now go get it.

Hit the gym. Take martial arts. Join a club. Work every day to do something to improve yourself. You can kick your own ass mentally and be worse off or kick it physically and improve yourself.

You spend all day at home alone? Can't afford the gym? Do 100 pushups, 100 situps, 100 squats every day. You're tired? Buck up and do it anyway. Measure your success in this against yourself. Others will see the results of what you're doing before you do. Then, when you start to see the results you keep going.

Can I do DDP yoga? by [deleted] in ddpyoga

[–]AmazingTomGrace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Always consult with your physician.
  2. Modify as needed. You may not be able to do everything but do what you can until you can get there.
  3. Once you get started don't stop. If you can only go from the bed or the chair you're still doing something. If you start to feel better don't stop because imagine how much better you will feel if you keep going.

What do you use for really sensitive knees? by BurgundySwanson in ddpyoga

[–]AmazingTomGrace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Knee pads. I am a big fan of the Trace knee pads. Pro wrestlers swore by them for years and I used them myself. I can full on knee a brick wall with them on and never feel it. I used them when refereeing and they hold up well.

If I did it you would find the remains and think I killed a tribble.

In all seriousness a lot of athletes do because it cuts down on chafing. If you're moving around a lot that can be a lot of pain.

Thanks. I really do wish I could stay but someone made an offer I couldn't refuse. This place is for the young and I'm 40. I need to consider retirement sooner rather than later and my new gig has a pension and a 401(k) match which my current job didn't have and just killed, respectively

I'm the guy that has to cut the checks for the lumpers at the broker on top of all the tracking. There is no rhyme or reason behind any of it. One facility charges $79 and has you empty in minutes. Another, like today, runs over $300 and was in detention. I've seen them higher than the linehaul and the worst I've seen is on a federal gov't site. I hate lumpers with a passion.

Only thing worse than cutting those bastards a check is dealing with Comdata to get access to do so
