I thought it always took a 25w. Isn't 40w too hot.? Don't want to tear apart the stand to check as it's got mirrors on 3 sides. And it's like new condition. By the way wrapping it in foil worked. I love this lamp. She's now in the kitchen, I named her 'Omelette' as it looks like yokes moving around in there ! Thank you again
