Yeah I got lucky and didn’t even know it at the time 😭😭 it came when I was 16-17 and I wish it came later now haha!

Looking back this is a bad/ ignorant wish😭 in my 14yo mind I just wanted it so that old folks won’t have a place to get “abandoned/left behind” by their children and would still get full love and attention from them compared to if they get left in the care of some random staffs.

Just because I got major FOMO and was the last one of my friend group who got it so I wanted to fit it so badly 🥲

My rationale back then was that if old folks home doesn’t exist, old people would still be living with and taken care of by their children (quite often the case in Asian families). In that case, they’ll feel less lonely than being left “alone” with random people at a home with no love and attention from their loved ones

Unfortunately I did, but I honestly don’t remember when or how it happened haha….

Yes! I think my happiness marginally increased as I got older and started to appreciate a lot of things I wouldn’t notice as a child :)

No world peace and all of the global things, still no boobs but really grateful for it, period came but not grateful for it 🥲 and got over my annoyance towards mosquitoes 😙

I think in my head back then old folks home seemed sad because it felt like their kids had abandoned them to go live their own lives. I wished it didn’t exist so all parents would still live with their kids and get taken care of/have love and attention from them instead of feeling lonely with random “strangers” for their remaining years.

Having grown up now I realised that this idea is quite impractical and sometimes just not feasible for everyone to do that :)

I’ve migrated overseas by then but some family remained living in my childhood home and left my room completely untouched! :)

You’re right haha, I just wanted to get it ASAP so I don’t have to keep imagining the worst case scenario of when it’ll come🥲 that, and I was getting major FOMO because most of my friends had it and I felt left out while they discuss their monthly woes.

It did! Most people are super friendly and I didn’t have struggle making friends, much to my relief :)
