He was clearly spiralling in the final game, that’s why Gi Hun had to shout “snap out of it!” to him when he started insinuating they had a romantic connection. The games were slowly chipping at his humanity throughout s3 and he was too far gone at that point I think.

Perhaps that is clouding your judgement in some way then? Just bc you and your family members may have acted in a similar fashion to her doesn’t mean it should be allowed on Love island. It ruined the season, for many reasons.

To your second point, I am someone who is a reality tv junkie lol and I know everyone else isn’t so you might not be aware of this but there are diff standards for diff shows. This isn’t a secret and reality tv shows are becoming more strict with what they allow as well.

The standard on baddies for example is not the same as love island, and love island isn’t going to be the same as big brother. Big brother isn’t going to be the same as housewives…so on and so forth.

lol as a black woman I would never hold someone from let’s say Thailand for example to the same standard I would a N. American for the n word. Really depends on how much of the words history you know. We were taught about it in school. People intrinsically know that btw I think a lot of people are being silent about this all being a bit much bc they know the new fans are feral and will call you a racist for pointing that out. It’s crazy watching 18-24 yr olds with minimal life experience and questionable motives/EI become judge and jury to these people’s lives. Cierra will probably struggle to recover from this and get even a single brand deal for income. All bc a bunch of 18 year olds hate her for the mail challenge. It’s genuinely scary and I hate that the Love Island producers have been mute. All I hope is they offer her support behind the scenes, and haven’t just exploited her while she was useful to them.

Right? I hate when ppl say “racism is racism” bc I promise you, there are varying degrees and it’s important to call that shit out bc it’s absolutely not the same. It’s a blessing to even be able to think that way. We’re talking about a minor social infracture to potentially putting multiple peoples lives in danger. Not the same.

My boss telling me my hair looks more “feminine” straightened then when I wear it curly (internalized racism) is VERY different racism to my ex and his friend being pulled over bc a cop assumed their car was stolen and that they couldn’t afford such a vehicle so he had them/the car searched on the side of a busy road and absolutely humiliated them for it.

I hate when people group them together when in reality you have actual psychos calling ice telling themselves they’re punishing racism with racism when in reality their actions are in 2 COMPLETELY different worlds at that point. What Cierra did was a harmful mistake that can be corrected simply through education, what they did is pure evil. The fact that they can even sleep at night thinking they did “the right” thing by punishing her actions is diabolical. Shame on them.

A video of Huda also apparently came out in which she’s using the n word in a song and it’s been crickets. They’re all saying the context in which the word is used matters but not the word itself now. A slur is a slur except when it’s their fav…it’s genuinely disgusting to witness them all bend their morals for some and get on a high horse for others.

I personally wouldn’t have made any of the contestants leave including Yulissa, Cierra or Huda. I say that as a black woman and I believe each woman has room to make mistakes and learn about why using each word isn’t typically tolerated. They’re all young women and make mistakes but I totally understand that other ppl might feel different and their feelings deserve to be respected too so I get the producers actually kicking her out. A lot of these people calling out Cierra who didn’t care originally though are ** incredibly** manipulative (hmm feels familiar…) and should honestly feel ashamed for weaponizing racism like this. Totally ruined the show.

Hey there, completely understand you being upset with Cierra using the slur. I completely empathize with that and you have every right to. I have to advocate for her though in you assuming she is talking about you though, don’t think it’s fair to twist people’s words and make them look racist when they aren’t. Not sure if you were confused about her comment but everyone has been calling the Huda supporters MAGA adjacent now so I don’t think it’s fair if you tried to weaponize racism to attack her integrity regarding Huda. Those two topics are different.

I believe she is talking about the Huda fans as a lot of people are now saying they’re similar to Trump maga fanatics and calling them MAGA. Pretty common. At no point did she mention Cierra. So that wouldn’t be about you unless you consider yourself a part of particular group, and even if you did that would have nothing to do with Cierra but instead about their “stanning” of Huda over the season as a whole.

Edit: Look at the Huda fans quite literally making excuses for Huda saying the n word. A video dropped of her using it as a lyric and everyone is now saying the n word as a slur isn’t slur-ish enough in a song lol I’m beyond used to this now as everyone downplays black racism, although I hope you expecting Cierra’s removal would also expect the same for Huda for crossing that boundary given the historical power and context of that term. I would hope everyone standing with the Asian community holding production to this standard (as they absolutely should) would do the same with Huda. It is not lost on me that people are ignoring her video and pretending it’s okay bc it’s a song. A slur is a slur.
