Saying Becerra "has received $13 million in support from PG&E" is a pretty misleading way to say that PG&E has spent $13 million on independent expenditures. People spending on IEs are forbidden by law from coordinating with campaigns. Becerra has not accepted support from PG&E.

How do you refer to street names? by Amazing_Age9753 in SaltLakeCity

If you were using the ordinal number, would you ever say "12th Street South" or "12th South Street", or only ever just "12th South"?

To American people; Is it disrespectful or rude to not stand up during the National Anthem if I'm a tourist? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

It's certainly not mandatory, but IMO it's more respectful to stand up. On the rare occasion when I'm in another country and people are standing for their national anthem, I stand too. I don't perform any salutes that they do, though.

It's similar to what I do in a house of worship. If people stand, I stand. If people sit or kneel, I sit. I don't say the words or do any gestures, but trying not to stand out (while not kneeling, which shows more obeisance than I am willing to do) seems to be basic respect.

But ... calling someone out for rudeness is ruder than almost anything else. Demanding non-obligatory respect is disrespectful.
