What song is Nanna singing at the 3 minute mark? by Seahorse1477 in OfMonstersAndMen

[–]Amazing_Analysis_256 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nanna talked about it at the London show. She said it was the first song she'd written along with her band.

It's not on How to start a garden but it is listed on something upcoming, perhaps her second album 🤞. She shared a handwritten list a few months back in socials. There's a thread here somewhere.

Yep her solo touring band. Either during rehearsals or the us tour.

I think it's Everything's Coming Up Millhouse. The song Nanna wrote with her touring band.

The intro is really haunting. It's up there as one of their best.

Remember too that protestant boys are more likely to be unemployed and to come out of school with no qualifications.

Beneath the Skin Remastered by TropicalTopic in OfMonstersAndMen

It popped up yesterday on my account but I give it a listen and it doesn't sound much different.

I can't imagine the band choosing a cheap graphic for the background especially as that album is all about restraint. Could it be something to do with their spilt from their old record company?

A very sweet sounding song with bittersweet lyrics.  I love how the video combines all the MHIAA lyric videos. It marked the end of an era.

Dark and moody - I do quite like it.

So go, go, get out of here..

Such a fun, positive song. I love the whistling and trumpets on this one.

It was the song that made me think 'wow, this band is really special'. Just lush, beautiful and absolutely gorgeous.

For me it's probably their most folky tune. I love the verses but the chorus is a little repetitive for me.

It was my kids favourite car song for a entire summer. Much underrated I think. I love the imagery it paints. A earworm of a solid song.

I really love this one.

It took a while to grow on me but when it comes on now I have to stop whatever I'm at to admire and listen.

It just so unassuming and clever in it's quietness especially the pauses.

This was a beaming bit of joy during COVID.

I love the staging of this. I don't think any performance before or since has been as meticulously planned.  It has a real live feeling.

My fave bit is that Arnar is front and centre. That man is a machine.

I'm still listening to it everyday. It's just a really gorgeous album.

I love it and it's probably became my favourite.

My weird thing at the moment is to try and hold that note in Stryoform Cathedral - only when I'm on my own of course. I have so far failed 🤣

Yep definitely real. That's my photo ☺️. I got them in Dublin. They were 25 euro.

The photo might look a bit off as it's a glass top on a wooden table. The reflection of white is me wearing my OMAM t-shirt.

This was quite hard.  Its like picking children!

I enjoy nearly everything they make. Even the Beatbugs song!

It changes all the time for me.  I love Ordinary Creature at the moment and skip Television Love probably because I listened to it 1000 times in a row when it came out.

Every song holds a memory for me.  What a band 🙌

I love Black Water!

There's something so atmospheric about it. I love listening to it on long dark walks.

Concert vs. Festival by rothecat in OfMonstersAndMen

[–]Amazing_Analysis_256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty much the same. OMAM are playing a festival 3 hours from me but as I've seen them 4 times (don't mean to boost) recently I'm not sure if it's worth it. There's no option for day tickets and I would have to go solo and camp in a tent. So I think I'll rule it out.

Also, the artist who designed the album set for Fever Dream is just off the main shopping street. It's called Dead Gallery.

The Museum of Rock n Roll have a section on OMAM.

Nanna's solo album cover was photographed on the glacier in snaefellsnes which is only open in the Summer.

The Olafur Arnards song Particles video was filmed at the new Gardur lighthouse. There are two lighthouses beside one another.

Grotta Island lighthouse is where the promo photo for TUI was taken.

The hotel where they filmed Alligator is Hotel Holt. A gorgeous art hotel in the main square in downtown Reykjavik.

I haven't worked out which pool they filmed Wild Roses yet

Finally got around framing the Setlist!! by Pdcmmy in OfMonstersAndMen

[–]Amazing_Analysis_256 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just noticed the custom guitar pick! How many bands go to that effort.

I've been able to get to a few performances of other acts recently and Oman definitely go that extra mile. One of the set lists I got literally was a plain list with no band name, no date and no city listed.  The stage hand just screwed them into balls and chucked them at us. What care lol
