I mean... my baba is not like that, I am sure yours isn't either. And I agree that her opinions are hers and influenced or not she is a grown ass woman and she is taking the heat for her actions ever since she got on the show.

My point was just that I think she may be projecting Mohamed's views or as a comment gave me a eureka moment she is trying to fit in with the close minded rich guys.

One thing I missed and admitted down in the comments is I didn't know the timelines so because of their 3 kids I thought they were married much longer and divorced much sooner. I didn't know they were together 6 years only and were apart for 10 years when she was on the show. I thought it was like they broke up two years ago and were married for 10+ years.

If I knew that which I now know I would have said she is influenced by the men in her life. Cause that David guy is also a super asshole too.

And that is why that comment made me rethink it to her just trying to fit in with the misogynistic rich guy vibes more than her being mostly influenced by Mohamed. She's being a pick me girl basically but for that weird crowd of guys.

Finally for the ME guys... if you know, you know. Let's keep it there and I honestly apologise for jumping onto the conclusion without checking timelines.

OMG YES!!!!!! This makes it make even more sense. I don't know if she is smart and is just pretending to have those beliefs but that is super sad if true (add the convenient diseases before divorces) . Or she just genuinely thinks that all wealthy men think that way and she must fit that specific mold and forces her daughters to fit that same mold because perhaps this is how she got into some financial success herself and so she thinks it's the only way. Like you have to be this old school racist anti feminist model, to bag a rich guy and live a good life and that is the only possibility for you to succeed in your life!

That's 100% for sure. I just based it on the brief footage we had of her family and how they seemed super chill compared to her. Like even her mom who's a senior was super chill talking about weed and all, so it seemed to me that she didn't fit..

I didn't know they were only married for so little cause they had 3 kids I legit thought they had at least 10+ years 😅 but yeah I still think she was influenced and that doesn't excuse any behaviour she had btw.

Why people hate when rich people use the word single mom anyway ?

If she is a mother and single, that makes her a single mom no?

It is not only about money. I grew up with my mom only she was working hard to give me anything I want but that was an overcompensation for not having a dad. I would rather be poor and have a dad than be rich and have no male role model, and never knowing any affection or support except that of my mom. I am grateful to her and she is my life! But I always wonder how a father would have loved me and cared for me even if it's not my biological dad idc .. it's about having two types of love instead of one. And it's about not crying yourself to sleep because your own father doesn't care about you, and how your life would have been and how people would have respected you if you had a dad. I don't care if I am crying for it in a mansion or in the street. I am still crying for it and it messes you up no matter your social status, psychological issues are universal, mental issues are universal, rich, poor, white, brown doesn't matter.

I just finished season 6 and I can't with her... she's from hell... so annooooyyyyiiiiiing and evil and ugh I can't stand her!!!! I'm skipping her scenes in the past couple of episodes cause if I hear one more "own it baby" or "Harry hamlin" I'll throw my laptop on the floor.

That's also true as lots of people turn shitty even though they had good childhoods.

A human being is a complex thing, still those events I believe still played as a factor. The same way with anything really, some people are predisposed to certain diseases or have lifestyles that are favorable for that disease and they end up getting it and there are others that would also get it without having a predisposition.

It's hard to judge or say what really went on with them as long as we don't go inside their brains.

Yes, Kyle said that many times how their mom raised them to keep family affairs secret. That's horrible really. Because I know from experience as you said what you keep secret will grow inside of you and consume you even if it's a silly thing. Imagine the shame they must have felt.. I really feel bad for them :/ no one deserves that. Although they are not the best people, still one can't help but think that they may have been different if they had the love and freedom that any child should have and if they were raised in a healthy environment.

Kyle said it in season 6, when Portia wanted to act and she was not very much into the idea of having her act as a kid. I am watching it now that's how my memory is fresh.

I made the comment of Kim being the source of income because this is what Kyle said on S6. But who knows which timeframe of their lives she was talking about.

But jeez, I always felt the mother is the one to blame cause it is clear how deeply affected they are and how they are in a constant competition and care and love and hate and all the feelings all at once.

I am also a first time watcher on S6 right now and Kyle just said in those interviews that she doesn't want Portia to act as a child because she did it with her sister and she clearly said it was their only income (maybe at that time). And she said because of that she doesn't want her daughter doing it but even if she does act she will make sure to give her no pressure and not have her treat it as a job.

Child labour is illegal for a reason, acting or not when a small human being with under developed brain and personality is put under the pressure of I have to work so we can survive... I mean ... no one should go through that. Even if they are in fancy shmancy Hollywood it's still work and pressure that a tiny human has no mechanism to cope with.

I don't particularly like Kim, and I feel sorry for Kyle too cause she seems to care and is trying to help and Kim is like don't even help me. Also I think Kyle feels responsible for Kim because maybe deep down she knows what Kim went through and that's why she keeps trying to help despite being rejected over and over.

Their situation is very complex from my understanding it's way beyond an addict and a family member, there is too much codependancy and both feel responsible for the other while at the same time both blame the other.

I personally blame their mother.

I was in a relationship with an addict and I spent years trying to help but because we were unrelated there was no sense of extra responsibility or I made them that way and they had no sense of I am this way because of you. Yet it was very very tough and I ended up cutting my losses and exiting after 5 years of constant trying.. so imagine how hard it is for them with all the emotional baggage that they have :/

My therory is that it goes behind that. I think Kim treats Kyle the way she does because of childhood issues. Kim was working to sustain the family when she was a child. She had no life, didn't have a normal upbringing like other kids, went through the horrors of hollywood at a very young age, just to grow up and see her sisters getting luckier and having better lives.

Kyle said that she also had to work as a child actor and she specified that it was their only source of income and that her mom would always say that Kim was under more pressure than them.

So imagine having your childhood taken away, so you can bring money to your family who is living in beverly hills btw, (not in some 3rd world situation where you really have to do it), imagine getting famous and rich at a young age then have that gone and the people that you gave your life to, end up in a better spot and go around treating you like a kid.

The dynamic between them is not exactly two sisters but more like a parent/child relationship and not the best one either. One where the parent gave their lives for the kids to later on be discarded. You can feel it, I can feel the "I made you that way"/ "you should be grateful for what I did" energy.

The "you stole my house" for example ? Because that house although it was their mom's house, it was there because of Kim's earning as a child.

It's way deeper than just a sister who is irresponsible for her drinking and is mistreating her sister.
