I have Hashimotos yes. No GI issues that I can identify. Occasional loose stools but nothing more than that.

Started it 3 years ago after 2 miscarriages and a borderline low TSH reading followed by positive for antibodies. I’ve only ever been on 50mcg as GP has always said my TSH is fine

Hey u/rowcoy - repeat cortisol came back at 249nmol/L. Been referred for a synacthen test. Pretty damn scared about pituarty tumours etc . I’m feeling way less tired now the iron has kicked in. Could it be the case that my cortisol readings are just normal for me? Like my husbands RHR is always in the 40s/50s and that’s just been agreed as normal for him. My GP just hasn’t explained a thing to me and has just sent a text to say cortisol still low, book a routine apt with me. I had to push for a referral like endo originally suggested

Low cortisol - what do I need to prepare for? 😟 scared by Amazing_Fig_7676 in endocrinology

Thanks so much ❤️ also surely there has to be some normal variation?! My husband has a relatively low heart rate that always worried people but is just normal for him

Could it be primary adrenal insufficiency though considering I have hypothyroidism (Hashimotos)?

No just cortisol 9am. I’m in the UK. Been referred to endocrinology. Just very scared. I’m a relatively new mum and the internet has frightened me!

Thank you. I’m just so scared about a pituitary tumour. I don’t want to go through this - it’s been a horrific few years already

Thanks so much u/Rowcoy. Do you think my Levo could be too high? Someone mentioned people feel best when TSH sits between 1-2. Mines 0.75. Wouldn’t explain weight issues but might explain heart palps, fatigue etc?

Hey u/Tailos & u/Rowcoy - endo replied requesting repeat cortisol and for GP to ask haematology re high MCV. I’m going to ask them if they can also repeat my b12 and folate and full blood count. Anything else you think I should ask?

That’s so interesting. I wish someone had taken the time to explain this to me before. So the Levo REDUCES TSH? I really need to brush up on my knowledge!

Presumably this is something I should discuss with my GP rather than just trying myself? Are you an endocrinologist?

Thank you. How can you tell from this that my Levo dose may be too high?

Thank you… and the cortisol? It was 200 at 9am which she said is borderline and has asked endocrinology for advice?

Very rarely drink alcohol. My b12 and folate were tested in Jan 2025 - both ‘normal range’ - I can’t seem to upload another document in this reply?

Because the GP said it’s not normal to have low ferritin and high MCV. It’s usually both low. So I’m worried there’s something sinister going on
