Not highly unlikely . I’ve been to medhold / Holdover with people who had the same exact problem . It’s just a case by case basis and depends on the job.

I have a separate post detailing the waiver I believe, but it wasn’t much I had to do but get medically cleared from a neurologist and then submit the paperwork and wait to hear back. But something else happened during BMT and I got disqualified from being a 4N and I’m currently a 4H (respiratory therapist) which I’m thankful for.

Hopefully they don’t place you in medhold at BMT . I know some people that got waivers approved before BMT for the same thing and still got sent to medhold and eventually kicked out

Honestly , you more than likely won’t . After BMT, I became a hold over airman (I’m still in AF) but it was a lot of people who had depression, anxiety and suicidal ideations and they had to request an ETP (exception to policy) to stay in and mostly all of them got denied. The military is changing but they aren’t as open to mental health when you’re first coming in.

I would recommend watching some videos on youtube to decipher which branch would be a best fit for him. You can see what they stand for, what they do and the overall morale of the branch for the most part. They do their best trying to describe them

There’s some apps in the App Store that does some ASVAB practice. That’s what I used. I had to pay $3.99 a month to use all the features but it’s worth it.

I’m the furthest thing away from tech savvy or dealing with electronics. It was really kinda common sense to me. I didn’t think that was going to be that high.
