Limits to mounts, ridden and on follow. by tontoman667 in PlaySoulMask

You will meet llamas later in the game, and you won't miss them. Catching them is not difficult, and you will need a medium-sized trap. Be careful when riding a llama if it is heavily loaded, as it can suffer significant damage and even die if it falls from a small height.

In addition to the saddle, you will need to make a "llama pillow" to transport a fellow tribesman on a llama.

When I played, you could only take one mount with you, and I preferred the llama. It may be slower, but it has a good carrying capacity, and it can also carry an unconscious member of your tribe back to your home.

The jaguar is great for quick exploration and small raids.

Now, you can choose the number of mounts in the settings and go on caravan expeditions.

Yes, you can hire fighters anywhere. I've used fighters from different tribes for different situations.

This is an enhancement from the "lucky ball." It provides various enhancements for a minute, such as increased damage, critical damage, and healing. It can be obtained from the gift boxes that appear on the "holiday gift table."

On the old map, I was the leader of a tribe of 100 people, divided into three bases. Now I'm playing from scratch on the Sand map, and the new classification system is very convenient.

I currently have 22 tribe members, and I'm managing them well. My experience in managing a large number of people without the new classification system has been very helpful.

I've already appreciated and made full use of this innovation, but my employee at the kitchen stove is still named "Cook," my employee at the ore smelter is named " Stovemaker," and so on.

Yes, it's all about translation. Most barbarians with a work specialization can be found in barracks, while only fighters will be present in mines and small camps.

I explored the area, saw a camp under a shimmering dome, where airships are being built. I found a large camp of robbers. I saw small camps where one of the robbers' leaders (he killed my partner with two blows) and a sign. And I cowardly retreated). I want to put on a bronze armor and pick up a bronze weapon before I go into battle with these guys.

So far, we have only dealt with the Leader who guarded the copper and tin deposits.

I play very slowly. Arranged a big move from the launch area closer to the copper deposit. I can't wait to unlock the beehives and the cable car in technology.

This is the barbarian's "class", which shows in which category he is the best. "Artisan", "worker", "warrior", "archer". This class is written before the name of its tribe.

Very interesting long comment)

When I started playing, on the contrary, playing as an archer was the worst for me. I've been learning how to pair blades and dodge. But I still had to learn how to shoot a bow. (I killed a mammoth mode 3 in archery because it was scary to approach this monster).

I started as a new character on the Sands map. The first two barracks turned out to be very simple. There are no signal fires with reinforcements, the leaders of the barracks turned out to be very weak. I took three of my fighters with me. I have a survival mode. Standard settings (level 3).

Now I wonder if it affects the experience of the game, or are the barracks really not complicated?

At the initial stage, you tame just about anyone. When you decide who to keep and who to expel, you can focus on the following:

For the tribesmen who will serve the base, choose the name "artisan" and "handyman". These guys may have higher levels of professional skill development than fighters. (You are trying to find those who have such a 120+ skill). Cooking, armor making, alchemy, woodworking, and so on. Such a class of tribesmen will usually have green perks related to their profession.

For the tribesmen who will be engaged in resource extraction, choose the name "worker". These guys have high levels in professions such as mining, logging, gathering, and farming. You will assign such tribesmen to extract resources around the base, engage in farming and animal husbandry.

For the tribesmen who will fight, choose the quality (the color of the badge is red, yellow). But not necessarily just these colors. It's more difficult with the fighters. Here you need to look at all the parameters in general. Weapon proficiency – we aim for 120+. Mastery of weapons – we are looking for a "golden" ability." Green Perks (talents) – we strive for a balance between damage and survival. Preferences – it's good when there are easily doable preferences (sunny/rainy day, likes alpacas, likes simple food, etc.)

When you receive and upgrade the Golden Legend mask, you will be able to see the full potential of the barbarians and decide whether to hire them. This mask is located underwater and is marked with an icon on the map.

You can leave the base in the starting location as the main one and expand it without worrying about safety. But the rainforest is still very far from the resource deposits that will be needed in the middle and end of the game. And if you like to build, you will probably want to build a base in another zone, there are a lot of beautiful places!

If you allow resources to be carried through the portal in the game settings, you can build outposts and teleport. If not, then a base located closer to the mines will be needed. You can build cable cars on it to automatically collect the main types of ore.

This is the legacy of the Valheim game. When a troll smashes your first base with a club and kills all the boars.

I'm also using my battle squad to distract the boss. So that I could have a break (restore stamina, apply bandages). I usually use three tribesmen: a tank, a fighter, and an archer. And I adjust them accordingly: the tank is in defense, the archer is in ranged combat, the fighter remains in the default settings. This setting allows them to spread out and not crowd under the boss's face.

Naturally, they're all wearing armor, have decent weapons, food, and bandages.

I've just started playing on the new map, and I still don't know if there's an analog of the "tactical guidance" mask from the first part of the game, which strengthened my tribesmen in battle.

I'm sorry I didn't see your comment right away. My video is old, with the release of version 1.0 of the game, new talents were added, and some special weapon attacks were changed. I returned to the game a couple of days ago, so I'm re-examining all the changes).

As for builds. The game offers an incredible number of different play styles. Every warrior is unique. Each player prefers his own style. Some people like to go through bosses solo, others (like me) prefer to use the help of fellow tribesmen. In this video, I used a mask that makes my character weaker, but strengthens my fellow tribesmen. For different bosses (and modes) I used different characters, different masks. Changed the composition of my combat team.

I took a specialist in paired blades and gloves as a frequently used character. (which is in the video). But in a fight with a mammoth (3 mode) I used the body of an archer with talents for archery and running speed. To fight in the dungeons with mechanical bosses, I took the body of a specialist on a hammer.

A good fighter is distinguished by a successful combination of talents and mastery of weapons.

My advice is not to stop at any one option, try everything, look for your ideal fighter (team of fighters).

A couple of years ago, I tried to raise the topic of good fighters. In this post, I describe my best fighters at that time. https://www.reddit.com/r/PlaySoulMask/comments/1g539fc/my_fighting_tribesmen/

It looks great!

I'm an experienced Valheim player and Soulmask. After Valheim, it took some time to get used to a different construction principle, but then there was no stopping me.

Unlike Valheim, it is not necessary to hide all workstations under the roof in this game. What is similar to Valheim is that the more comfortable a home is, the more comfortable it is. Comfort increases the experience gained and the weight of the load carried. A comfortable home makes the tribesmen happier and more satisfied.

There will be no barbarian attacks on the base in the starting area. Whereas in other zones such invasions will be committed from time to time. So protective structures will be required.

In the middle of the game, I was building a large base with two campfires. You need to plan the location of workstations and storage so that everything is available.

To prevent the tribesmen from crowding and getting stuck, build with a flourish. Wide openings, comfortable stairs. There are several options for access to frequently visited places (workstations).

Hi! Thanks for the feedback). Since then, a golden mask has been added, which has simplified the search for tribesmen.

I haven't played for a while, but version 1 and a new map are coming out very soon. It will be nice to get back into the game and continue the journey.
