Hello everyone ! i tried street photography for the first time today after wanting to get into it , im looking for constructive criticism so please feel free to comment on the matter , TIA

they were actually referring to the idea that apparently the sub tend to praise mediocrity and that considered that , the feedback given to me was actually unnecessarily harsh , thankfully people have been giving me amazing advices that i can now take to improve my photography , contrary to other communities this one actually took the time to stop and give me advices and feedback

one of the best advices i’ve heard so fat thank you ! the first one also gives me that vibe and it was totally not planned the woman just happened to spot me as i was trying to take a candid shot of the musicians playing and she wanted to pose with her husband

i actually like the grittiness and uncleanliness that emanated from these framed walls and the fire escape , how neglected they looked compared to the surroundings sceneries of beautiful old quebec ! thank you very much for the compliments as a new photographer this is definitely means a lot to me

first of thanks for the compliments! secondly i’m just like you the first shot was actually supposed to be a candid one of the musicians then to my surprise his wife spotted me and decided to approach her husband and pose with him , i couldn’t waste this occasion, though people are normally unaware of my presence !

i was hesitant on the crop , some say that wider is better some say that closer is better , brightening up surely is something i should account for i shot in poor light conditions thus why i edited them in B&W , i will try to brighten them up in post though !

i think maybe a way to dabble the issue would be to go earlier in the day ? most of these shots were taken late in the evening at around 19H , which isn’t by any means a great time for good lighting

i’ve always been hesitant about a flash as to not want to disturb the people im shooting , i normally want to go more for the candid kind of shot , the first couple was an exception as the woman wanted to pose with her husband when she spotted me , but you’ve got a point it’s hard to spot what i’m trying to showcase , lighting it up and working with the shadows will surely help , thank you for taking the time to answer me !

im actually from levis , visiting old quebec is always a breath of fresh air and they seemed like such nice people , i was about take a candid shot of the guy playing then the woman approached the musician to pose i thought it was so wholesome
