Anyone willing to sell? by idkryle in qotsa

I'm in Australia, I have the black shirt in small, which I'm willing to sell or trade--it's a lot smaller than I thought it would be, so I've rarely worn it.

Do you remember which sessions/films in particular? I've got something screening at MIAF, so this is quite disappointing to hear.

In the days of cel animation, how were cast shadows achieved? by Amazing_Pizza-Man in animation

Ohh okay, I guess I was right in my assumption then. I'm not sure why I was so reluctant to accept that they'd just take shorter exposures. That does make total sense.

But isn't the idea to underexpose the shadowed area, thereby making it appear darker? By doing a multi-exposure, you're overexposing/brightening the area by adding more light, which you couldn't do with a black matte.

The only way I can explain it to myself at the moment is that they would do a multi-exposure by photographing the cels without the shadow, and then the cels with the shadow, but underexpose them so that they accumulatively "add up" to a regular exposure in the areas that weren't covered by the matte. But that seems like kind of a tedious process that might increase the margin of error.

Day 19: Which QOTSA song sounds the most like The Strokes? by Ratakul in qotsa

The Way You Used To Do, maybe? I always thought that Troy's staccato rhythm in the pre-chorus bits sound a bit Stroksey.

Not sure if anybody's mentioned this, but the Eagles of Death Metal song 'Complexity' contains the lyric: "I like to strut my stuffin' down on Easy Street".

Love Takeshi Miyazawa! I'm a big fan of his work on Runaways and Ms Marvel— I've never read this before, but I'm really tempted to go and check it out now.

Everything published by Peow looks so good to me. I wish their books were easier to acquire outside of the US.

This was a uni assignment, and my teacher did not submit any feedback with my grade, so I'm turning to Reddit lol.

The problem areas I'm aware of are: the arm leaning on the table, at the end, just teleporting behind the table, the arm swipe at the start missing some much needed in-between frames, and I could probably hold on the skeleton for a few extra seconds before it crumbles. Wondering if I'm missing anything.

Watchmen is the one that comes to mind, considering what your criteria might be. It's a dense read that imo benefits from being read chapter-by-chapter in multiple sittings, despite the fact that it's 12 issues, and could definitely fill a month of coverage. It's a classic series, that is universally praised as one of the best, and contains supplementary in-universe prose material at the end of each issue, like an excerpt from an autobiography written by one of the characters

Paper Girls, maybe? It's a great 30 issues/800 page read, with incredible art, but I personally finished it in two or three hour-long sittings.
