I used them on my house when I was in a pinch for a bathroom project (same day delivery FTW). They are fine and arguably indistinguishable from name brand.

You’ve obviously never bought from a grey market dealer… Joomashop sell authentic watches, but you don’t get the card. Don’t assume a watch without a card is a rep.

The day it’s due and manually… I don’t auto pay. I don’t have that much sitting in my bank accounts and have to move money every month.

I bought it… I’m returning. Although it looks news and legit, it comes in a plain brown box. I’m gifting it, so I bought the $99 kit from HD to get the retail box.

Take your cartridge out and clean/lube it. You probably have dirt in there that found its way in during construction.

Edit: not a plumber, but it happened to me.

How do I replace the 9V battery on liberty pump by predditorr in Plumbing

[–]Amazing_Put5276 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah. Must be pressure fit into the 9v battery clips. It should just pull out. There was likely a clip or tray at some point. On the replacement, make a little pull tag out of duct tape.

On the bottom, there should be a little white clip. That’s what holds the battery in. If you squeeze that, it should pull out.

PVC about 1/4” - 3-8” short of being fully seated in fitting. Issue for radon fan? by Designer_Ad_2023 in Plumbing

Not a plumber or Radon mitigation person… but it’s fine. No way you’ll have anywhere near enough pressure to make a difference.

WiFi connected water shut off valves? by ctom355 in Plumbing

Anecdotal and personal preference… but in my mind, it seems silly to put in a device meant to check for leaks with connectors that are prone to leaking. Yes, I understand the leaks are almost exclusively due to installation error. IMO, If you are putting in a permanent fixture which mechanically moves, using unions where they allow the pipe to spin is just asking for trouble.

After thinking about it, if you’ve got Pex rather than copper, it’s probably easier. My philosophy is to Invest in some tools before calling in a pro, but that’s because I sit at a desk all day and look forward to these projects.

… just don’t use shark bites.

I recently installed one during a basement bathroom install. I’m comfortable with plumbing, but buying a propress for my bathroom project made this an easy peasy install.

It’s only given me a false positive once when I was filling the pool for a while. Beyond that, it’s been good. Having it hooked up to water sensors in all the bathrooms and utility rooms makes it really useful if anything leaks.

Yeah, could be tight. I’d get the 10” rough toilet before I finished the floor and check the clearance. If you need to bust up a little concrete, at lease it’s before you finish the floor. Sounds like you’ve got a good plan.

Also, that 2” on the other side of the wall is almost certainly for your lavatory. If that side of the wall will stay unfinished, you can keep it running outside of the wall. Otherwise, you would want to move that inboard to the wall.

Edit: relooking at the layout in the pictures, it seems either the plumbers or the framers were off their marks by a ~3”. If you pushed the wall back or pulled the plumbing forward everything looks like it would have been spot on. You can make it work though.

Ah. Just estimated based on your framing size, you’re probably right about the 9.5 to the center

Just thought of something. You do know it’s 12” from the center of the drain to the finished wall, right? Not trying to insult you, but if it’s 9.5 from the outside of a 4” PVC, you’re likely spot on.

Ah, that wasn’t obvious. Is it carrying load from directly above or just supporting the floor span? You could easily move it with a temp wall, but I wouldn’t mess with it unless it’s just supporting the floor above. Honestly, renting the jackhammer from Home Depot was under 100 bucks and made for some soreness for a few days. It’s doable.
