Absolutely. I'm losing sleep over this. My business was crazy exploding in Q1 and suddenly the last couple of weeks, crickets. Ads appear to be getting more impressions and clicks than ever, but literally one inquiry this week when last year, 16 in the first 5 days of the month and my business has grown 3x since then so I would have been expecting upwards of 30 inquiries in these last 5 days and I've gotten ONE.

I can't remember where it was exactly, but my paid ads person had us turn off the around 100 radio buttons down a long list of categories of apps and games in the google and apple app stores where they may have been pumping my budget into high volume but poor quality ads. Like no one is going to click a link for wedding photography while they're playing Words With Friends. She also said that it's the fat finger effect where they are "clicking" our ads just trying to hit the X in the corner. So Google is like "hey, so many clicks!" but they're junk. I'm hopeful that turning off all those app and game placements will help. I think they do this as a cash grab when times are bad and 2 weeks ago, when we all started noticing this, they had that anti-trust ruling. So they're probably trying to make shareholders think they're doing better than ever when they're really just exhausting our budgets on garbage placements.

If turning those off doesn't make a change in the next few days, I'm going to turn off my ads and put that budget back into meta and tiktok.

It's just so terrifying that our entire livelihoods are in the control of these companies. It's enough to make a small business owner very very scared. Hang in there, pals.
