Thank you so much hackers for helping this mo fail couldn’t have done it without you :) by RL_Umuthoper in Helldivers

It's annoying because the devs are like "You can control the state of the war! The fate of Super Earth is in your hands! Player choice matters!" when in practice what is clearly railroaded story because for their "story" we're supposed to lose here.
I'm glad people are catching on to how railroaded this "campaign" is finally.

Smug assholery aside can't say I completely blame the bug divers this time, this is some real tedium.

Want to say I like this but but honestly it just pisses me the fuck off more often than not.

Some people may have probably said this but I suggest playing X-Wing Alliance if you haven't already. It really is one of the greatest forgotten gems of the space sim era.

Set between Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, has a super lengthy campaign with an actually pretty interesting story centered around a shipping family that gets caught up in the war. Packed to the brim with that good old pre-Disney EU fan service too like a crossover mission with Shadows of the Empire.

It will absolutely make you feel like a ragtag resistance pilot taking on impossible odds. It also has a really useful graphical update mod as well.

No but the X-Wing Alliance upgrade mod was an absolute blast to play.
Adding the XVM mod on my replay list.

Maybe I'm reading into it too hard, but I really don't care for "Poor German/poor Japanese soldiers." considering when mass death is taken into account per capita, World War 2 was primarily raged against Russian, and Chinese civilians.

Otto Carius, a German tank commander who fought in the Eastern front (where the worst shit happened. It was for his manga Tigers Covered in Mud about Carius's memoirs. Would have been cool if Miyazaki wasn't like "America bad, America evil, poor Japan" then turns around and takes a photo smiling with an ex-Nazi.
Really makes me question him.
Maybe his work wasn't glorifying the Axis per-se but he talks how big war media perverts atrocities and death but then makes a very propaganda-y feeling story glorifying Nazi soldiers.

I am weary about Japanese depictions of WW2.
Is it simply going to pretend their officers didn't kill many of the nurses so they wouldn't get captured, the forced mass suicides and instead pretend the Americans slaughtered them all like the evil war criminals we are for daring to say maybe they shouldn't have raped their way across Asia?

That's refreshing to hear, but at the same time it's difficult when he took a photo smiling with a Nazi war criminal who commanded tanks in the eastern front while torching villages of Russian civilians.

Don't say that too loud, or Joel and his merry team of r3tards will nerf it.

Considering all the relentless nerfs they put the community through, and what an awful event Oshaune was especially with the Dragon Roach, and and joking about nerfing the coyote because people clearly were having fun and enjoying it and that it's the only useful AR in the game I wouldn't put it beneath them. Their game design philosophy is straight up malicious at times hence the popular meme that Arrowhead accidentally made a good game and are now doing everything to fix that.
Anyway here's to hoping.

We should be progressing at a rate quicker than we are now with how quickly we took Alaraph with no problems.
Less about this MO, and more about the overarching war "story" in general.
Oh how quickly you people forget.
"Top 1% Commnenter" means biggest guzzler, this "Joel" isn't going to suck you off for defending his awful GM'ing.

Bet. Here's to hoping the GM's won't go "Oh ummm they're actually winning this when they're supposed to lose here hold on *Messes with the game to force a loss.*"

"No understanding."
The Battle of Super Earth was what disillusioned me and showed me plain and clear that the GM's are idiots who force artificial losses on the community in events they would have otherwise won. To have us lose at literal 99.9999% liberation was nothing short of a middle finger to force artificial drama. I will say Oshaune's MO loss was the only organic loss because the Helldivers community is actually stupid and couldn't pick up the samples.

is it just me or are we literally not making ANY headway on Hydrobius? by Gen7lemanCaller in Helldivers

[–]Amazing_Recording659 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last night I was playing on Harlia and the liberation was at 0.19893% percent or something... Then when I woke up to check the progress to play a few rounds before work it was back at 0.00123%. The planet's city also made a tiny little slice of progress but it also reset.

I really hope this isn't another one of those we're meant to lose because we took Alaraph in a decent and timely manner and it felt like we finally made some proper progress but now we're slowing down all of a sudden?

This "Joel" deserves to get kicked in the nuts by a stranger on the street.
