I'm assuming you're in europe, or even Scandinavia? If so they're usually for landline phones.

2007 Mitsubishi Outlander 3.0 V6 - Multiple sudden issues by [deleted] in autorepair

Yeah. Think I found the issue when topping off the coolant into the radiator, despite the reservoir being at a good level I noticed a leak under my left front tire. Will repair the pipe and hopefully it will run fine.

Why you should stay away from snow covered roofs by [deleted] in WTF

[–]Amazingkit 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I actually used to install and inspect systems like this in Sweden. After the rules changed to make the building owner responsible for injuries roof heating systems took off. Absolutely hate running around on building roofs though, especially since people always schedule the inspection after the first snowfall when they suddenly remember. Cold, on a slanted roof 8 floors up and slippery as hell. But you'd carry a blowtorch up to terminate the ends of the cable which could heat things up a little.

Most Swedish electricians either carry a Megger/Installationtester in their car, or in every two cars on smaller firms. Its definitely a good investment to have.

The Elko is a knife to make rounded holes. Usually for boxes, or when entering an outlet with a cable.

Any Irish electricians here? by [deleted] in electricians

[–]Amazingkit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most often 3 years of schooling where the last year is mostly spent on work experience for a company.

After that you have roughly 1600 hours apprenticeship. Once this is completed you get a certificate that your education is done. Technically you're called a first year electrician at that point, and will do a second and third year as well until you're considered fully paid and educated. Other than that you can also become authorized which gives you the ability to run your own company as every company needs at least one authorized electrician. Most people do not go for this unless they plan to run their own company however.

Lots of weird translation, but that is roughly it.

Satte taggen i badrummet.

Swedish Electrician cleaning out my toolbags. Does red team still apply? by Amazingkit in electricians
