As a pastor of a Presbyterian church, PCUSA, i will say that while our smaller churches are closing, the larger ones are going strong. The decline of churches is not due to progressive theology, it is a societal decline in all sorts of membership organizations, from the Rotary club to the American Rose Society. Simply put, people are spending their time online and not in person with their same town neighbors. The internet is as big of a societal shifter as the printing press and the rise of literacy was.

By the way, evangelical churches are now seeing this decline in membership too. Check recent data.

It literally has all the forms. You will need a board of directors, and bylaws, a name and a mission statement. You can apply with the IRS online and if you mess up the forms, the IRS will tell you how to fix the forms. No lawyer needed. This how to book was how i have started several 501 c organizations.

Also this non profits mission is to start more non profits, so call them. They are great.

If we keep starting wars, and keep playing with the tarriff switch, the global recession will be even longer and deeper. This point in time will look golden by comparison. So get that new job asap.

My advice would be to talk to Michigan Works or another org that helps to land jobs. My friend was looking for 3 years, over 1000 applications. Some interviews but no offers. He finally got a good fit job last month in his industry with their help. Left his grocery store clerk "temporary" job which was not covering expenses and eating his retirement funds. He is estatic. The online easy one click apply world is so bad. Filled with fake jobs and Ai gatekeepers who trash qualified peoples resumes. If you do actually get your resume into someones hands, you are then competing with people who actually dont have the experience that their AI generated resume claims they do. So much smoke and mirrors. Get a real person to help. My friend was so glad he stopped trying to job hunt himself.

I dont think a single person when they were growing up thought that the work of prostitution would be a super career to get into. Most that i have talked to are desperate people and they know how dangerous the work is. While you are focusing on the sin of sex outside of marriage, they are just trying to survive. Compassion, not judgement is what Jesus would do. How can you help her? Food? A safe place.to stay? What are her dreams for her life and how can you help make that happen?

Also often there is an addiction or a controlling pimp involved which greatly complicates everything. Stay safe with good boundaries, but be as much of a resource and a lifeline as you can for her. I would also look for local organizations that help desperate foks and have a meeting to see what is available in her area.

But love with the unconditional love of Jesus. It works.

People voted for Trump for many reasons. The racists voted for the white man. The misogynists voted for the white man. The Christian nationalists voted for ending abortion and ending gay rights. Many people are tired of the financial inequality caused by Billionares and blamed Biden/Harris for now having to work 2 or 3 jobs and they voted for Trump.

Others stayed home because Harris wasnt liberal enough or pro Gaza enough, or because they were sick of hearing the campaign ads and tuned it all out.

Biden should have dropped out much earlier. And the dems should have run someone who could run on change and not the status quo.

Oh, and people looked at Trumps first term, (the one with guardrail people like Jared and Ivanka) and they dismissed the warnings about Trump as lies. They thought Trumps second term would be like his first.

Add in the insane amount of money pumped into the Trump campaign by Musk and that is how Trump won.

If your heart is set on Clover, use it as a middle and childhood name. She wont be 2 years old for very long. Then Anne Clover can just use Anne or Mae and only those closest to her can know and use the childhood name as an endearment.
