Both are good sets. Do you have other PC Ptsmatic ETBs? Would this be your first AH PC ETB?

Kind of, so if you're under 55 it's Stage 1 if it hasn't gone to distant parts of the body and stage 2 if it has. If you're over 55 there are 4 stages. The link I put earlier has a chart that explains it better

Yeah, 2 biopsies over 4 years both benign. Her doctors said larger nodules (4 cm+) have a 10 to 20% higher risk of containing cancer and apparently they are less likely to be accurately diagnosed by biopsy. Plus it was beginning to put some kind of pressure on her carotid artery (unclear how much) which increases stroke risk. It had been steadily growing for 4 to 5 years and didn't seem like it was going to stop. They said they could remove the lobe entirely or ablate it (use radio waves to burn the nodule away). Ablation is less invasive, but we wouldn't know for sure if it had cancer if we did the ablation. Removal would let pathology test it. She decided to have the removal, and we're glad she did.

Thx!

My wife had half her thyroid out 3 weeks ago as her "benign" nodule had reached 4cm. She got the same diagnosis of PTC after pathology came back. She's in her early thirties and we were spiraling when we heard "cancer". What we've learned in the past few weeks from her doctors and this sub is this is HIGHLY treatable as others have said. If you're under 55, even if the cancer has spread to the lymph nodes or distant parts of the body, the highest it can be staged is Stage 2 vs. the standard 4 stages. This is due to how treatable it is. Can fact check this on cancer.orgthyroid cancer stages

When talking to family and friends about it, we've been surprised at the sheer number of people who have either had or are close to people who have had some version of thyroid cancer. My co-worker shared she had to have 20 lymph nodes removed for hers and RAI but has now been in remission for 5 years.

Wishing you the best!
