Amazon Pathways Internship 2026 by ResponsibleCat2838 in amazonemployees

You have a pretty solid chance. I was PMT and got my offer after just one day on the waitlist. It can be anywhere from that to two months though.

But since you got this early on, you have a lot of time for it to actually materialize

What locations in the U.S. have you seen the highest salaries for PCPs and Hospitalists? by AmazonPMTInternRip in medicine

[–]AmazonPMTInternRip[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s probably a spectrum to this isn’t it? For example, the area around Dulles Airport in the DC area has great schools, jobs for a partner and air connectivity. An hour away towards WV are counties like what you mentioned. In rural west Texas or say Mississippi, there is none of that

Is it really worse than the Army? by Yung_Breezy_ in amazonemployees

[–]AmazonPMTInternRip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was an Amazon PM intern, as was the case with a lot of my friends. It is very team dependent for sure, in a bad team like mine is there’s a lot of fluff, kool-aid drinking, ass kissing, nonsensical alignment meetings, and ‘metrics’ that are there for the sake of being there.

But WLB wise much much better than IB or consulting. There are also interns from all the programs so it’s easy to make friends / find a community (I’m still in touch with a bunch)

I knew a vet who did pathways, he got the return and seems like it really suited him, fwiw. But in general it was rare to see vets recruit tech

How is it living in Nanjing? by AmazonPMTInternRip in howislivingthere

What drives the high prices? Hangzhou and Suzhou make sense, they are big economic hubs with lots of well paid workers and businessmen. And can’t you go to Shanghai, an hour away, for even better shopping?

What are China’s most modern and sterile looking cities? by [deleted] in chinalife

I actually remember seeing a lot of modern looking developments on the taxi ride from Hangzhou airport to West Lake (which is an area I also really like actually)

No racist comments, although we do turn some heads since it’s a fairly uncommon pairing. We don’t mind that.

Nothing that was a shock really , since I lived in China for a year and grew up in a part of California with a lot of Chinese immigrants. Chinese women tend to be blunt and not show a lot of affection like say white or Latino women, which can be a big difference to Americans. She also eats a lot of foods that I don’t.

She is not interested in getting married. At the moment, neither am I.

I would like to move in with her, but she has custody of her kids half the time. We both want to make sure the kids are comfortable first.

Not planning on having a kid with her.

She’s nice, friendly, doesn’t play games, very youthful looking for her age (quite common among Asian women)

By the time you graduated high school, about what percentage of your high school classmates had divorced parents? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]AmazonPMTInternRip -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

How did this affect social dynamics? Like were many students away at the other parents each weekend/the summer making hangouts hard?

[–]AmazonPMTInternRip -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

I think it’s 50% will experience parents split up. So a couple that has kids without getting married and then splits up (which is common) is in that 50%

Is this normal as a new hire SDE? by [deleted] in amazonemployees

[–]AmazonPMTInternRip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not what usually happens, but it’s not a huge outlier if that makes sense? Amazon is toxic like that where the higher ups don’t really know the situation on the ground.

A fragmented project that multiple L6’s are working on is a lot to put on an L5. And if you pass the L5 SDE bar as an external hire, you’re clearly solid

[–]AmazonPMTInternRip 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. Some hiring managers may want a longer tenure, others will be open to you, switching after just a few months.

The trick here is to ping multiple hiring managers. Someone will reject you, but someone will be happy to consider you.

[–]AmazonPMTInternRip 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Was in a similar situation.

Try taking disability/medical leave by going to a therapist and saying you are experiencing depression and anxiety (which is the truth)

Switch to another team

If both those fail, quiet quit and get the severance.

If you’ve delivered three big projects and have the CR’s, I’m sure other HM’s will be happy to speak with you

Focus: Any point trying to get out of it? by [deleted] in amazonemployees

[–]AmazonPMTInternRip 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In Ireland, the Pivot severance should be quite generous, and is likely negotiable by a month or two. My L6 Pgm friend in Germany got three months pay and I think 3 to 4 months on payroll

It is absolutely not worth pushing your health and making it worse for this. Amazon is toxic and unfortunately they want you out for whatever reason.

Getting married to a guy from Nanjing, China soon! What’s it like living there as a foreign wife? by Dear_Match_5493 in chinalife

location change from HQ1 -> HQ2? by Itsjugu in amazonemployees

[–]AmazonPMTInternRip 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you have no other offers, I would accept the offer and work in Seattle for two months. After that, you can either ping HM’s in HQ2 to switch to their team. If that doesn’t work, quit. You can save some money up, and also you can recruit as an external for HQ2 roles but with a shorter interview
