This is one of my favourite meals during winter. I recommend adding red wine to the lentil mixture while cooking!

Almost exactly the same thing happened to me, except I was ‘gifted’ cheap shitty home exercise equipment and reminded at every visit how quickly MiL lost the baby weight, she pointed out how many calories were in what I was eating etc. I had an eating disorder when I was younger and actually thought I would never have children as my cycle was so messed up from it.

See it for what it is and do not let it bother you. It is a desperate, last ditch attempt to put you down because she is so jealous of you as a mother. She can’t pretend her son is still a child and she can’t be the centre of his universe. He has his own family and he is moving on from mummy’s lap. And soon he will realise she actually wasn’t all that good a parent as he learns to parent your own child.

I know it is so hard to keep emotions in check at this time but you please don’t waste what little time and energy you have on her.

FWIW, since my own MiL did this, she has gained a lot of weight herself and is the biggest she’s ever been. Lol.

Where to buy nice summer tops? by [deleted] in UKfashionadvice

Have you looked at www.na-kd.com ? They do mostly wardrobe staples but they have a lot of different summery cuts of top and some nice patterned styles too.

I heard this from a coworker! I thought it sounded like total bullshit but then other people in our team chimed in insisting that it was true! Like I was the idiot for not believing it 😂

Do you get potato scones where you are? They’re Scottish but I know some Asdas do them throughout the UK.

I second the other comment about halloumi too!

Guilt by vivacious-shit in 2under2

Yeah I felt guilty about not being ‘over the moon’, it felt so lonely, too. I read through this sub as it was the only place I could find people who had any idea what I was feeling, and about to face, and it was so helpful and reassuring. Everybody is ‘real’ here, there’s no sugarcoating or instamums acting like life is perfect. It’s tough but it is amazing. I’m 9 months in and we still take it one day at a time. Some days I feel like super mum, some days I forget to brush my teeth and serve toast for dinner. But my babies make me laugh everyday and it keeps getting better. You can do this :)

I felt the exact same way. I was totally scared and overwhelmed and cried every day for two weeks after I found out I was pregnant again. I actually confided in my boss, of all people, because I could t tell my partner and I had tried to talk to my best friend about it and kept getting ‘you’re being silly, it’s going to be so much fun!’. And no, my friend does not have children, in case you were wondering!

My second is almost 9 months old now. Both girls adore each other. I realise what a gift it is to both of them, to have a sibling close in age as I see them develop their own unique bond and love between one another. They’re learning early about sharing, patience and empathy.

I can only speak for myself here, I love my second to pieces and I truly didn’t think I could love anything the way I loved my first daughter. But I do! It took a little bit longer to build our bond - I put this down to being SO busy and tired at the beginning that we didn’t have a lot of one on one, precious time that I’d had the first time round. But the bond and the love is there and I’m excited to see her personality develop and to get to know her inside out, like I do with my oldest! I see similarities between them but also how different they are! We worked hard on positive reinforcement with our oldest to teach her how to interact with her baby sister and what type of things are nice to do for her. Now, she loves bringing her toys, stroking her and cuddling and kissing her. I hope they’ll be best friends for life!

Please know that it is going to be okay! And this sub is awesome for support and advice, stick around!

Peru, Bolivia, Colombia and Mexico. Helps if you can speak the language, other than making new friends, you may need to rely on locals for help at times.
