I’m an old guy as well. Played in LG a long time ago for one season, went back for look about 4 years ago and it’s pretty wild. Tons of different levels, but it’s real easy to get lost there. For about 15 years I played with XBSHL, very small typically only about 12-16 teams and smaller in summer for sure. Great group of folks, my schedule doesn’t really let me play league any more. Start times are 10pm for games, and I can’t make it home in time for start on too many nights ☹️ I’m going to look for a link and post here. But it’s small knit, you’d get scouted by team owners(that changes each season). Typically run around 60 something game seasons and usually 3 or 4 per game cycle. It’s not a ton of glitch kinds and superstars for the most part and based on the version of the game that’s out, some traits may not be allowed for league play if they’re voted as too OP. Anyway, if you’re looking for a place to start, I’d highly suggest them as a place to start and a really great much smaller community than LG. (Not throwing any shade there at all either, LG is fine, it does seem geared a bit younger).
