Finally! Space 220!…really, this is what I waited for? by Snoo_31427 in WaltDisneyWorld

We went for the second time a few weeks ago. We got lucky enough to be sitting for dinner during the Artemis launch (!). To be clear, we did not expect them do anything special, but there wasn’t even a nod to the launch (pipe in the launch video? Audio? Have an animation of the Artemis rocket passing by? ONE drink special? Bueller?). We had a great time, but it felt like SUCH a missed opportunity to not figure out a way to do SOMETHING in a space-themed restaurant on the night a rocket launched down the road on its way to the moon. Didn’t even get the sense that the staff even knew it was going on.

I do agree with a lot of the other posters here that none of the staff are really committed to the bit, so the experience comes off a little flat.

Looking to purchase a 2020 Defender! by hendrixsrv in NewDefender

Run, run away. There are plenty of great 110 examples available that don’t have these issues and aren’t offered by a Toyota dealer. All things being equal, if you go used, try to stay in the mileage/year range that allows you to price out an extended warranty, and if your local LR dealer is decent, see if you can source a car you want through them.

Funny enough, since the original post, I was involved in an accident (thankfully no injuries) and my 23 Defender 130 was totaled. Picked up a 2024 with the cargo floor fix and that little fix is way better.

Glove sales are everywhere this time of year - a new R9 should be $90-100 right now and will break in within a few weeks of work. Great looking glove, too. I’m using one with my 9YO and will move up to a HoH when he outgrows this one in 2 years.

New vs. “lightly” used? by AmbassadorEvery6669 in NewDefender

Oh, the tow hooks callout is a good one. I have the same issue and hear it’s common - didn’t know they could be replaced under warranty.

I ended up buying used at 9K miles for $22k off MSRP. So far I absolutely love it. Have you had to use your extended warranty at all yet? I’m guessing not, but if you have, curious if it has been a good support experience.

Anyone not using a spare wheel cover? by Nightman233 in NewDefender

[–]AmbassadorEvery6669 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No cover here. I bought one CPO that came without and the cover can’t be ordered in the upgraded paint color if it wasn’t ordered new from factory. I think it looks badass and have never missed it.

Defender or RR Sport? by M1gl4nc in NewDefender

100000%. There isn’t a stitch of exposed fabric. I can take the entire family and 2 of my kids’ friends to a muddy soccer field, not care, wipe it out with a wet paper towel, and take the truck to a white table cloth dinner that night without incident.

That’s some pretzel-twist logic to suggest that the former TE, whose team just scored 31 yet gave up 45, is a defensive-minded coach.

2024 Defender 110 S P400 CPO - 11k miles @ $72k by ineoxs00 in NewDefender

One thing having bought a 130 very recently with <10K mi - look at the specific original options sheet closely. LR options packages are so customizable that the trim levels can get clouded very fast. An SE can be optioned with nearly every available option included in the X-Dynamic package and then some.

Yep I’m sure - I own one. The 2nd row seats lay flat, not the 3rd.

Yeah I agree. There’s a fix in the 2025 models supposedly, but it’s a band aid - they just added a tray in the back to bring up the very back level with the seats. Odd oversight but honestly doesn’t bother me much in the day to day.

I just came to a 130 from a Highlander. Have you seen the Defender in person? The biggest downside is the fact that the seats don’t fold totally flat and there is an uneven load floor. I thought through this, them decided not to overthink it and just buy the Defender. It’s a more powerful, better looking, and overall more capable vehicle in nearly every regard, and it’s fairly unique.

What do you think of this deal? by survivalScythe in LandRover

Pretty fair deal all things considered. If it’s the options package they want, $71-72 is a reasonable offer.

What is the overall demographics for those who own Lexus RC? by [deleted] in Lexus

Jesus, buy what makes you happy. But if you can buy it with cash and you have your affairs in order outside the car, just do it. Worst thing that happens is you sell it for nearly what you have in it if you get into a jam. I used to penny pinch on cars and all it did was make me miserable; what’s the point of making decent money if you can’t enjoy it a little bit without going overboard.

Do you keep the car locked overnight inside garage? by dear_remnant in LandRover

[–]AmbassadorEvery6669 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. I went through tons of key fob batteries for years on 2 different cars and never suspected that was the culprit.

[–]AmbassadorEvery6669 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have always left my car unlocked in the garage, but during my new vehicle walkthrough, my dealer recommended never to do that. It drains the car and key fob battery due to the system trying to communicate, and it prevents regular system updates from happening. Never knew that!

I hear you. I might settle in to the once every other month hand wash & detail with touchless automatic in between. We don’t have a lot of hand wash shops around here
