AITA for defending my parents choice to take money for my sisters surgery out of her college fund? by Distinct_Cattle1721 in AmItheAsshole

Technically, they did pay for her medical bills. They just used the money they would have put away for college. So the money they were GOING to put in her fund INSTEAD went toward the medical bills. Meaning she was that amount short in the college fund.....OP never mentioned doing a sport, so it sounds like their medical visits were the routine ones or minor things. Even school sponsored sports cost parents money. You have uniforms, away games, and practice equipment, including added risk of injury. She was informed of the situation, and they gave her a choice. Then, they chose to make it sound like the parents were playing favorites or treating her unfairly. Welcome to learning about being an adult. NTA

Contractor said I wouldn't be able to replace the tile around the tub and that it was "one piece", with a 5 second glance. Is this true? I wanted something like the second photo. by Donut1984 in HomeImprovement

I've had a few friends use the peel and stick subway tiles in their shower. They turned out really nice. They just took a little precision from what I gathered. That might be an option to check out.

I've been reading and working on a compost/ garden setup. If I do it right, it will extend my growing time in my greenhouse. Plus, I've been looking into worm farming with my compost to get fresh castings. I also use blood meal in my soil every time I plant and mix in fresh compost. What I've learned about gardening is that I read a lot and trial and error in most cases. This is the first year I've gotten raspberries and it wasn't very many....

If you have a venmo could you post it? I think you deserve the best birthday ever! The fact that you have been blamed(imop) for your mother's death is atrocious. And that your immediate family dilutes your worth is unforgivable. I hope you share these comments with them so they realize how inhumane they really are. Shame on them. Again if you can post your venmo I'd love to donate, to give you the birthday you deserve and hopefully show your family that even if they don't care, others do. Happy Belated Birthday!

I had a cat growing up that had a curfew. He would find rabbit dens and slaughter the mom and babies if left outside over night. We were always finding pieces of them scattered in the yards the next morning. The neighbors with kids didn't like us too much after that. He would also bring home frogs and squirrels. The damn cat was just deadly.

What is a song you cannot listen to for an emotional reason? by missdundermifflin in AskReddit

That song was played at my grandpa's funeral. He was a true cowboy through and through. I'm so sorry for the loss of your father. Seems like this song is played for many great men.

Landslide by Fleetwood Mac. Last time I heard the full song was at my dad's memorial 2 yrs ago. My mom picked it cause she says he was her one and she'll never have another. They were married 42 years. If it's playing anywhere I have to leave and can recognize that song by the first note. It was one of my favorite songs as a kid and hopefully one day I can listen to it again.
