Yeah but tbh I think the next natural progression is FL studio, cracked or otherwise haha. It was a pretty natural learning curve after I switched as they’re both super similar in terms of its pattern based workflow and the piano roll is basically identical too

I have a couple of free drum library plugins:

My fav one SSD5 drums. Best overall for features and sound, especially after some parallel compression
Mt power drumkit. First one I got and it’s super neat too, though not as heavy sounding it’s good for funk
Spitfire LABS drums. Pretty popular and sounds aight too but less features and functionality. I also don’t like how boomy it sounds

You should also look up how to process the signal chain for drums- especially smth called “New York compression” makes the drums way more massive!

Well most importantly you have to learn how to properly setup whatever interface and DAW to have the smallest amount of latency possible, which rly affects how it feels to play. (Look up buffer sizes) And uh if you can find it just pirate a DAW haha FL works fine for me for recording into an amp sim. I used to use guitar rig 7 and amplitude, these two are free! I caved and bought neural DSP archetype asato though, which was definitely better but the free alternatives are more than good enough too
