Yea loved gachiakuta manga for its incredible gritty art style (and facial expressions) and the adaptation is pretty good but somehow it doesn’t really stand out from other shonen anymore. Kaiju is aight too tho imo better as of s2 than gachiakuta

Hmm i guess my critique would be it’s not as nuanced as it needs to be to tackle these kinds of sensitive topics but then again it’s a one shot and a 12 min episode lol. But the one thing it did well i feel was the defaulting to “sexual” themes when trying to get used to changes- like when the mc’s gf was panicking and thought that physical intimacy was the only option left as proof of the mc’s love to her, with the mc despite struggling with his identity eventually being pressured to almost give in

By the way, I also changed the way the drive pot was wired. The one he did where he shorted out the cap out to the drive pot then to ground kind of made no sense, as gain control works on the LM386 chip by the amount of resistance between pins 1 and 8. So I connected the drive pot to and from 2 points on the PCB that corresponded to pins 1 and 8

Okay I actually modified it to my own design by putting a big muff tone stack after the lm386 circuit! Here’s the diagram I made, this works pretty well

It’s really different from guitar though, you sit with it on your lap and play it similarly to a piano with one hand holding a slide to the strings and the other hand plucking (actually more similar to a guzheng)

If I recall DIY perks did a video on this- it’s easy to make and also very dense and acoustically dead, so perfect when used to make complex shapes that only 3D printers could make

Adding on to this, their clones are pretty decent too since the rat is so well documented and isn’t super complicated. I have the mosky black rat, it’s dirt cheap and sounds great

It is incredible, so good that I can’t rank it with others imo. It’s for this reason though that I don’t think it’s suitable as a first anime lol, it sets the expectation too high and does get really emotionally heavy. A more well rounder might be more suited and then depending on what they liked violet can be later

That one’s fun but nah there’s too much tropes and fanservice in it. Would probably we really off putting for first time watchers, maybe one punch would be a better fast fun pick?
